This 2-day gorilla safari is designed to suit the time constrained travelers who have time limitation but want to experience an unforgettable safari moment. This safari will allow you to visit the Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda and will enable you to track the mountain gorillas. Having a short time will never be your boundary to experience a true safari sensation in Rwanda!
The maximum participants in the group is 8.
During this safari, you will have 2 accommodation options for your 1-night stay at Kinigi Guest House or Muhavura Lodge.
You will be met at the airport by the safari guide who will transfer you to the hotel booked for you in Ruhengeri near the Volcanoes National Park. You will have lunch there and in the afternoon, you will be taken for a scenic 2 to 3-hour drive in the park to view the splendid volcanic mountain landscapes after which you will return to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
This will be the gorilla safari main day. You will have an early breakfast before being driven to the park headquarters for a briefing at 08:30 about the rules to be observed during gorilla trekking. You will be allocated a gorilla family to track and guides to lead you to the gorillas. The tracking will be a 2 to 5-hour exercise. After finishing all of your activities, you will drive back to the airport for your departure flight.
You can enjoy Kigali city tour during this safari.
This safari will take place in Volcanoes National Park. Volcanoes National Park or “Parc National de Volcans” (known by locals as PNV) lies along the Virunga Mountains with 8 ancient volcanoes, which are shared by Rwanda, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Just a short 2-hour drive from Rwanda’s capital of Kigali, the park is a central location for exploring some distinctly Rwandan experiences.
While gorilla tracking is often at the top of visitor’s list, the dramatic landscape also offers thrilling hiking experience. PNV is also one of Rwanda’s conservation epicenters where many non-profit organizations base their operations. Visitors can pay homage to the legendary scientist and gorilla advocate, Dian Fossey, with a hike to her tomb or visit Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International that continues her legacy of research and advocacy to this day.
