Day 1: Nairobi to Aberdare
Pick up at the airport or hotel in the Samson's Safaris vehicle and early morning drive to Aberdare National Park. The drive is scenic via the central Kenya highlands with stops to view tea and coffee plantations. There shall be a further stop to see and experience the largest open-air market in East Africa at Karatina. Aberdare National Park is home to elephants, leopards, spotted hyenas, olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, warthogs, and bushbucks among others. Rare sightings include those of the Giant Forest hog, bongo, golden cat, serval cat, African wild cat, African civet cat, and the blue duiker.
Day 2: Solio Conservancy
After breakfast, head out to explore Solio Ranch or Solio Game Reserve which is a privately owned wildlife conservancy located in Kenya’s Central Province. The Solio Reserve is internationally recognized as the most successful private rhino breeding reserve in Kenya and visitors will find that sightings of up to 40 rhinoceros at a time are not uncommon. Afterward, head back to Aberdare for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Solio to Nairobi
Wake up to the sights, sounds, and smells of the African bush this morning. Have breakfast and check out of the hotel. Drive to Nairobi and upon arrival drop off at your city hotel. Or you can have an extension to Maasai Mara or the sandy beaches of Watamu.
