Program

Day 1: Nairobi to Ol Pejeta Conservancy

You will be picked up at your Nairobi residence and then depart to the foot of Mt. Kenya, where the Ol Pejeta Conservancy is located just at the equator. The guides will ensure that you will have a comprehensive game-viewing drive. Visit the chimpanzees and get to feed Baraka the Blind Rhino. Then, head back to the camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Game drive at the Conservancy

In the early morning before breakfast, head out for a game drive at sunrise. If lucky, you'll be able to spot the lions hunting among other cats. After a wonderful experience, head back to the camp for breakfast and check out. Leave the conservancy with an en route game drive, searching for animals not previously seen.

Drive back to Nairobi with a stopover for lunch at the Trout Tree restaurant. Upon arrival, you'll be dropped off at your residence or the airport.

Location

The Ol Pejeta Conservancy boasts the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa and is host to the “Big Five game,” including lions, buffaloes, and elephants, among a large selection of other African animals, which makes it a popular safari destination. It is located at the foot of Mount Kenya, home to a large number of black and white rhinos.

Ol Pejeta is a 364sq km wildlife conservancy situated between the foothills of Mt. Kenya and the Aberdare, and its game-to-area ratio tops the Kenyan park and reserve league. It has over 10,000 large mammals and it is the only park where the Big Five and chimpanzees can be seen.

The conservancy is only a three-hour drive from Nairobi and welcomes day visitors. Its main gate is 14 kilometers from the equator turn-off, just before Nanyuki town. This amazing rhino sanctuary boasts many numbers of black and white rhinos, as well as some of the Big Five animals like male lions, buffaloes, and elephants, among others.
