After breakfast, you will have an excursion to the famous Cape vineyards. You will drive through the picturesque valleys of Stellenbosch, Paarl, and Franschhoek. Stellenbosch wine route is arguably the country’s most famous vineyards and the Stellenbosch wine area includes over 300 wine farms of which more than 100 wine farms are open to the public.

You will taste South African way of life by visiting one of the wine estates, touring the farm, and have a wine tasting. Afterward, you will go back to Cape Town Waterfront for a sunset cruise (in the case of bad weather, you will visit Two Oceans Aquarium). You will enjoy dinner in a restaurant in Waterfront and stay overnight at a 3.5-star hotel in Cape Town.

Day 3: Cape of Good Hope

On this day, you will have a full day excursion to Cape of Good Hope. You will drive along the scenic Western coast via small picturesque fishing harbor of Hout Bay where you will sail to Duiker Island (the area of seal and seabird colonies).

Later, you will continue your drive through Chapman’s Peak, a 10-kilometers stretch blasted into the partially vertical rock which is considered as one of the most spectacular coastal roads in South Africa. It starts at Hout Bay and winds up to Chapman’s Point, revealing breathtaking views of the sandy bays down below when the road reaches sea level again in Noordhoek.

Afterward, you will visit The Cape Peninsula National Park to admire the beautiful coastal scenery, beaches, diverse plant and animal life, shipwrecks, and dramatic mountains. Wildlife in the reserve includes baboons, all sorts of buck, and wild cats. There is also an abundance of birdlife including ostriches and flamingos.

The park is the smallest of the world’s six floral kingdoms and has one of the highest concentrations of different plant species, some of which are found nowhere else in the world. The special vegetation of the region is called “fynbos” and includes Protea, one of South Africa’s national flowers.

You will reach Cape Point and use a funicular that leads up to the historic lighthouses that were built at the end of the Point. It is a stunning place to look out over the cliffs, rocks, and endless sea. The sight of huge waves crashing into the rocks is really spectacular. In the afternoon, you will return to Cape Town along Eastern coast and old colonial resorts of Muizenberg and Simonstown.

Afterward, you will continue north to see Bourke’s Luck Potholes, that have been carved out by water and stone falling down into Blyde River resulting in spectacular cylinders (up to six meters deep) with smooth and colorful rims. This natural feature marks the beginning of the Blyde River Canyon, the third largest canyon in the world, which is well known for its natural beauty and diversity of flora and fauna.

Nearby, you will visit another highlight of the scenic drive, Three Rondavels, three hut-shaped rock formations. On your way back, you will also stop at Lisbon Falls, which is the highest waterfalls in the area.

At the end of the journey, you will have a break in Pilgrim’s Rest, a little charming town that was founded after the discovery of gold in the stream flowing through the valley.
