During this safari, you will be staying at Jambo Mara Safari Lodge, a mid-range accommodation located just outside the park.

Program

Day 1: Arrival

Safari Update Travels' drivers will pick you up from your hotel or the airport at 7:30 a.m. and drive to the city center at the departure point. At this point, you can visit the supermarket and buy snacks or anything else that you would like to pick for the trip. Thereafter, depart and proceed to one of the renowned viewpoints in the Great Rift Valley, where you will get brief information about the formation of the Rift Valley as well as Kenya's history.

Thereafter, you will drive for another two hours to get to Narok town for hot lunch. After lunch, drive for another close to two and a half hours on a bumpy road that reflects the true Kenyan jungle as you encounter the Masai and their villages along the way. On arrival in Masai Mara, you will be received by the camp staff and directed to the room which will be your home for the next two nights.

After refreshing, you will head on for a late afternoon game drive in this park. After exploring the park, you may be lucky to have seen 1-2 of the big 5. You will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Full day at Masai Mara

On this day, you will wake up as early as 6:30 a.m. and then proceed to the dining hall where you will find your buffet breakfast served by the cook. You will have 30 minutes of breakfast and thereafter leave for the whole day game drive packed with your picnic lunch. Your driver will open the pop up roof so that you are able to stand and have a clear game view while in your game drive.

You will start spotting animals at a very close distance and it is advised to have all your cameras ready as the animals are in their natural habitats and actions takes place without notice. Lunch will be served here.

You will be able to see the hippo pool where with luck you may spot crocodiles basking on the rocks. Numerous plains game including antelopes, wildebeest, zebra, and Masai giraffes can be seen as well as scavengers like hyenas and vultures.

After lunch, you will proceed for another afternoon game drive as you return to the lodge at around 5 p.m. Overnight and Dinner.

Day 3: Departure

Wake up call at 6 a.m., have a cup of hot coffee or African tea, and proceed for an early morning game drive. Afterward, proceed to Nairobi with a stopover in Narok Town for Hot Lunch as you leave for Nairobi arriving in the early afternoon where you will be dropped off either back at your hotel or the airport.

This safari will take place in Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. Located in The Rift Valley at the border of Kenya and Tanzania and 6 hour's drive from Nairobi.

Please book your flight to arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO). Transfer from and to the airport is included in the price. Safari Update Travels will pick you up and drop you off at the airport.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 50% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid 7 days before arrival.
