Kicheche Mara Camp prides itself on offering a warm welcome and making guests feel like old friends rather than paying customers. Offering good value for money for the accommodation and service offered, clients have returned with positive feedback for the camp and TripAdvisor also reflects this sentiment. There are only eight tents overlooking the Olare Orok stream and the western escarpment of the valley.

Each is tastefully furnished with en-suite bathroom, flushing toilet and hot safari shower. Kicheche Mara Camp has moved from its former site in Lemek and is now located in Acacia Valley in Mara North Conservancy. The camp is located in a prime wildlife area and with game frequently coming past the camp itself.

Day 1 - 3: Mara North Conservancy

After breakfast, you will have a morning game drive en-route to the airstrip.

Fly by light aircraft to Nairobi Wilson airport – approximately 40 minutes.

You will be met by your guide and head off on your own private 4×4 safari to the Great Rift Valley, picnic lunch en route where you stay 2 nights at Loldia House on shores of Lake Naivasha – approximately 2 hours on Full Board.

Next day is a full day trip to Lake Nakuru for a full day safari.

Lake Nakuru a is renown for the birdlife, especially when in season the vast flocks of Lesser Flamingoes, Pelicans and water birds, plus you have some large mammals including Rhino’s, Leopards, Hippo’s, Zebra, Wildebeest, etc.

Lake Nakuru is an alkaline soda lake with an abundance of algae that is a rich source of sustenance for millions of flamingos. The spectacle of the shifting pink of mass on the lake, consuming a quarter of a million tons of algae on every hectare of the lake each year, can be seen nowhere else on earth.

  • Full day exploring the park, picnic lunch included
  • Return to Loldia House at the end of the day.
  • On final morning you will be transferred by road back to Nairobi International Airport

Note:

  • Outside of season, this is possible, but reserve fees would be payable locally.
  • Wildebeest migration occurs from July to October.

This safari trip will take place in Maasai Mara, Kenya. The Masai Mara is unquestionably one of the most famous parks in the world and quite rightly so. The enormous herds of migrating wildebeest attracting several predators make for an unrivaled wildlife spectacle. This ecosystem, attached to the Serengeti in Tanzania to the south, is truly tremendous.

The vast plains provide in a single vista a broad selection of wildlife grazing together (or in hidden grasses watching their prey). Here you will see huge herds of zebras, a variety of gazelles, giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, and forever amusing warthogs. You can also watch the cats including lions, leopards, hyenas, and some cheetahs. If you're really lucky, you'll see the resident black rhinos but they're pretty shy and rarely seen.

If you're after the Big Five, the Mara delivers in spades. However, fame comes at a price. The Mara has attracted numerous mass market tourism and encroaching Masai which have downgraded the wilderness experience. All said, there are ways around it.

During this safari trip, your breakfast, lunch, and dinners will be served daily. You will also be served local beer and house wine. During your full-day Mara Reserve visit, a picnic lunch will be prepared for you.

"What an amazing adventure to Tanzania & Zanzibar. Gina did a fantastic job planning our trip. We saw the Big 5 & many more animals. Plantation Lodge was awesome. Glamping at Naona Moru tent camp was quite the experience with all the animal noises through out the night. Then we were treated like royalty at Baraza. We will be talking about this trip for years with so many great memories."

"I just returned from a 15-night safari and Zanzibar holiday. It truly was the holiday of a lifetime! Charlie, Nick, and Gina did a fantastic job organizing our itinerary and everything was perfect! The highlight for us was sleeping under canvas at Naona Moru camp in the Serengeti. It was just amazing! Maasai Wanderings were great and our guide, Muba, was outstanding. He always seemed to be in the right place at the right time for spotting the wildlife! I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Safari and Beach. Thank you for the trip of a lifetime!"
