You will then be led by a forest guide who will be helping you in identifying the many tree species as well as spending time with the chimps in the forest. You will be given one hour to interact with them and watch them as they play, care, and feed the young ones.

You return to the lodge for a late lunch as you prepare to go for a nature walk with the swamp in Bigodi to view more primates as well as birds. You will as well visit the community-based projects that are funded by tourism.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Have breakfast and then drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, which is located at the bottom of mountain Rwenzori that is among the best, finest mountain ranges in the whole world. Along the way to the ark, you will view many animals including the birds. This national park has got over 100 mammal species and over 606 bird species. On arrival, you will check in at the lodge for dinner and an overnight.

Day 4: Early morning game drive and a boat cruise on Kazinga Channel in the evening

After your delicious early morning breakfast, you will set out for a Queen Elizabeth Safaris game drive searching for the extremely beautiful and striking animals here at Queen Elizabeth National Park. Be sure to spot animals like Hippos, elephants, Chimpanzees, zebras, buffaloes, hyenas, lions and many more.

Day 5: Game Drive in Ishasha Sector and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Start early with a game drive in the Ishasha sector and enjoy the view of the tree climbing lions. You will also view many other animals like the antelopes and buffalos, as well as the kobs and elephants. Have lunch after and then proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park arriving late evening.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest

After breakfast, gather at the respective park headquarters for a briefing at 8 a.m. and eventually start your gorilla trekking encounter. You follow the trails of your respective gorilla family traversing the forest with is hilly forested landscapes and deep saddles. The hills are forested with mature trees and dense undergrowth that have earned it the name Impenetrable.

During Uganda gorilla tracking, trackers are advised to carry the raincoats as well as the boots since the weather is always unpredictable. There are also potters who carry the luggage on behalf of the guests at a small cost. Getting one is highly recommended. Once you come face to face with these gorillas, the rangers will also guide you on how to handle them, especially by giving them a six-meter distance as you play around with them.

Kindly note that it’s also not so easy to predict the time to be taken while trekking and this will mainly depend on the location of some families since some stay really far from the headquarters. The gorilla trekking encounter tends to last two to eight hours inclusive of a one-hour direct encounter with them.

Seeing the critically endangered apes as they forage and socialize, the young gorillas rolling themselves on tree branches, and the Silverback demonstrating his authority is a moment of wonder that derives remarkable excitement. After the trek, you will proceed for a community walk or a nature walk in the afternoon. Later on get back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Departure

Have breakfast and then drive back to Kampala having lunch en-route. You will arrive in late afternoon.
