Accommodation

Sarova Stanley Hotel (two nights)

Sarova Stanley is amongst the few five-star rated hotels in Nairobi. It launched itself into Kenyan history in 1902 by becoming the first luxury hotel in Nairobi and the gracious host to prominent world leaders, renowned authors, and international celebrities. Today, Sarova Stanley's heritage character is preserved whilst offering modern hotel services and amenities to create Nairobi's best hotel experience. The hotel is also a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, in the Lifestyle Collection.

Sarova Shaba Game Lodge (three nights)

Sarova Shaba Game Lodge is located in a natural oasis in the heart of the Shaba Game Reserve or "Born Free Country" that Joy and George Adamson called home for many years. It is set along the bank of the Ewaso Nyiro River laid out around the natural springs that flow into the river. The lodge has a virtual mini forest of indigenous trees, a fish pond, and a large free-form swimming pool.

Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge (one night)

Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge is nestled along the Lion Hill overlooking the spectacular flamingo pink-rimmed Lake Nakuru. Its location affords panoramic views of the lake and the picturesque Lake Nakuru National Park. Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge is cleverly laid out in such a way that most rooms and sitting areas afford stunning views of the lake and the park. The lodge incorporates natural landscaping with tall acacia trees, winding walkways, and greens dotted with bird feeds.

Sarova Mara Game Camp (two nights)

The rolling plains around Sarova Mara Game Camp are teeming with wildebeest, gazelles, and zebras during the migration months, and the camp is situated right in the center of their migration path. A wildlife safari puts you right in the middle of all this action. Get a first-hand account of this epic phenomenon and live to tell the tale. A safari also helps you acquaint yourself with the landscapes of this beautiful African setting.

By virtue of its location and layout, the camp offers an unparalleled plethora of activities and experiences from luxury tented living to bird-watching, mini golf, sports fishing, and a unique insight into the Maasai culture at the adjoining Maasai village.

Program

Day 1: Nairobi

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO), you are met by a Royal Private Safaris representative and transferred to Stanley Hotel for an overnight stay on a bed-and-breakfast basis.

Day 2: Nairobi City Tour

A – NAIROBI NATIONAL PARK

In the early morning after breakfast, you will enjoy a visit to the Nairobi National Park for wildlife and bird watching. This is one of our most interesting wildlife viewing destinations and only covers an area large enough for a perfect short trip. The park hosts many mammals, including African Lions, Maasai Giraffes, Common Elands, Common Zebras, Nile Hippos, Black Rhinos, White Rhinos, and Cape Buffaloes. The park is also a birding haven with many beautiful species. In fact, over 500 bird species are recorded in the park. The local Nile Crocodiles are also a very welcome sight. This is Kenya’s oldest National Park, located just 7 kilometers from the edge of Nairobi city center. Nairobi National Park is only 117.21 Km2 in size allowing you to sample it very well on a short safari.

B - DAVID SHELDRICK ELEPHANT ORPHANAGE

Next, you will visit the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage. At the orphanage, you will learn about the orphaned elephants and how they got to the centre. You will also learn elephant Biology and the threats facing the species. The local education team will also teach about how the orphans are cared for until rehabilitation. Further, you will learn how you can adopt a baby elephant, if you are interested in adopting.

From here you will proceed to a local restaurant, where you will enjoy a scrumptious lunch; sampling local dishes and barbecues.

C - GIRAFFE CENTRE

After lunch, you head to the Giraffe Centre. This only takes a short drive. At the center, you will meet the lovely Rothschild’s Giraffes. You will learn about the breeding program at the center and also about giraffe Biology. You will also get an opportunity to feed the giraffes from your hand, hug, and even kiss these lovely “Tall Blondes”.
