During your safari, you will stay at the Arusha Coffee Lodge for one night, Kuro Tarangire for 2 nights, Plantation Lodge for 2 nights, and Serengeti Safari Camp for 3 nights.
Arusha Coffee Lodge comprises 30 plantation houses inclusive of 12 plantation suites, spacious and beautifully furnished. Each has a plush split-level lounge and bedroom area. There is a comfortable and elegantly styled bar, lounge area, and dining room in what was the original plantation house. The restaurant here is renowned for its excellent cooking.
This traditional bush camp is so rustic in nature yet offering all the amenities you could wish for. There are six tents with en suite bucket showers and flush eco toilets. One family tent has two rooms adjoining a sitting area. The tents have the views over the African bush.
The Plantation Lodge offers all amenities made for a relaxed vacation. The rooms are varied, ranging from luxurious, stylish standard room to the spacious garden house with its four double bedrooms.
As you arrive in Kilimanjaro, the guide from Rothschild Safaris will be at the airport to meet and greet you off your flight. He will then transfer you Arusha Coffee Lodge for the night. Set on one of Tanzania’s largest coffee plantations, this is the perfect haven for relaxation after your long flight and before you begin your African safari.
You will take an early flight to Tarangire National Park where you will start your two-day explorations of this park. You will stay in a camp that is situated inside the park, Kuro Camp. At meal times, you will gather in the communal open-sided lounge and dining area, and in the evenings, you will enjoy pre-dinner cocktails around a roaring bushfire.
After enjoying a good sleep, you will wake in the morning and begin your safari with a walk straight from camp in search of evidence of the night’s activities, tracking the path of a lion, or observing the nest of a praying mantis. Then, you will return to camp for brunch. Later in the day, you will climb into the open safari vehicle in anticipation of what’s to be discovered.
Take in the beauty of this park known for its large elephant herds and beautiful baobab trees. After that, you will go back to the camp for a bush dinner followed by the option to head out at night to witness the elusive creatures that choose to come out after dark.
Continue to Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive, you will visit Masai Village to learn all about their traditions, and arrive at Plantation Lodge late afternoon for your next two nights. Set on 10 hectares, this owner-run lodge is a delightful base for activities into the Ngorongoro Crater.
On your sixth day, you will descend deep into the crater for a full day’s game viewing. In the afternoon, you may take a walk along the rim of the Olmoti Crater, going into the town of Karatu to experience the local markets, or enjoying the peaceful setting of the lodge after an exciting day in the crater. Another option may be to visit the Olduvai Gorge where the first human remains were found.
You will fly into the Serengeti National Park and Serengeti Safari Lodge for your final three nights on your Tanzania safari. This camp is designed to be in the best location to view the annual wildebeest migration herds, and so the camp moves every few months along the route that the herds have traveled for hundreds of years. For a few months each year the migration can be found on their doorstep in the Lamai region of the Serengeti.
With your private guide, you will have three days to explore the Serengeti in depth. On one of these days, you may choose to spend a full day out in the Serengeti with a picnic lunch. Enjoy the evenings around the bushfire swapping stories with your fellow travelers from around the world.
Your Tanzania safari will be concluded with a final morning game drive in the Serengeti. You will then be transferred to the airstrip, bid farewell to your wonderful guide and board your aircraft back to Kilimanjaro. Upon arrival in Kilimanjaro, you will connect with your international departure flight.
This safari will take place in Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti National Park. Serengeti National Park perhaps is one of the most famous for the Great Migration. The park, along with the neighboring Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Maasai Mara, protects the greatest and most varied concentration of wild animals on earth.
Tarangire National Park is the place for vast herds of thirsty elephant and buffalo migrating to the Tarangire River that runs through this gem of a park. Lake Manyara National Park is a small but scenic with hundred-strong baboon troops, impressively tusked elephants, and tree-climbing lions. Ngorongoro Crater has a breathtaking view from the rim of the ancient natural amphitheater, and an astounding variety and density of wildlife inside the crater.
