Rhino Lodge Bardia have prepared a special safari for you, that will put you on a track to search for tiger sightings. Bardia National Park is the largest lowland protected area of Nepal. The park provides an excellent wilderness experience for visitors. Unique flora, fauna, and landscapes, and the indigenous culture of buffer zone communities, are important attractions for the tourists. In recent years, the number of tourists visiting the park has increased remarkably.
You will be accommodated at Rhino Lodge Bardia, in air conditioned twin rooms. The lodges, composed of comfortable cottage-type accommodations, have attached bathrooms with running hot and cold water and are spread over a large area amidst a peaceful and beautiful setting of well manicured lawns, walkways, and gardens full of flowers and plants. This is also an ideal place for guests to gather in the evenings and share the day's experiences.

Bardia National Park is located in the western lowland and encompasses a total area of 968 square kilometers. The park includes alluvial floodplains created by Karnali River in the west and the pristine ecosystem of Bardia Valley in the northeastern section. The park is reputed for its rich biodiversity. The vegetation here ranges from early successional stage, tall floodplains grassland established on the alluvial floodplain of Karnali, Orai, and Babai river systems, to the climax stage, sal and forest extended on relatively dry flat lands.
The fauna diversity of the park includes 53 species of mammals, including endangered megaherbivores like rhinoceros and elephants, more than 25 species of reptiles, over 400 species of birds, 121 species of fishes, and an unknown diversity of mollusks and arthropods. Species conservation in the park has yielded satisfactory results as a number of mammals such as tigers, elephants, spotted deer, hog deer, smabar, swamp deer have made a remarkable comeback.
A narrow strip of buffer zone covering an area of 327 square kilometers adjoins the park in the West and in the South. More than 100,000 people of diverse ethnicity inhabit the buffer zone. Tharus are the indigenous group and comprise above 60% of the total population. Other ethnic groups in the buffer zone include Brahmin / Kshetri, occupational castes , and the people of Mongoloid origin (Magar, Gurung, Tamang, etc.). Agriculture is the main occupation of buffer zone communities.
Rhino Lodge Bardia is located only a minute away from Bardia National Park, 10 minutes from its headquarters, and a minute from the elephant stables.

Please book your flight to arrive at Nepalgunj Airport (KEP). Transfers from and to this airport are available for about 80 USD per trip in one van. Upon arrival at Nepalgunj Airport (KEP) you can be met by Rhino Lodge Bardia's representative and driven to the lodge in a private vehicle for a very scenic two-hour drive.
For groups of more than 15 people, Rhino Lodge Bardia can arrange either a direct or connecting flight from any airport in Nepal to Nepalgunj. Airfare one way from Kathmandu To Nepaljung is about 143 USD with Buddha Air, Yeti Airlines, or Shree Airlines. The times of the airlines are usually from 8 to 9 am and 4 to 5 pm daily.
You can also catch a bus from Nepalgunj bus station to Thakurdwara, the main village of Bardia National Park. If you are traveling to Bardia from eastern Nepal, catch a vehicle plying towards Mahendranagar. If you are coming from India via Bandassa on the Indian border, through Mahendranagar, catch a bus plying towards eastern Nepal and get dropped in Amdassa. It takes nine hours to reach Bandassa from Delhi and a further five hours from Mahendranagar to reach Ambassa.
