This is a 9-day safari visiting the best of Kenya: Amboseli National Park, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, and Maasai Mara. Carefully chosen lodges and camps ensure both comfort and immersion in Kenya’s natural beauty. This safari is an unforgettable journey through Kenya’s wildlife-rich wonders.
The Southern Sun Mayfair Hotel is situated in the popular shopping and residential suburb of Parklands, Nairobi, close to the city center. It is only 20 km from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and offers a full range of services and facilities.
The essence of Africa Ol Tukai Lodge is one of the best spots in the world to watch elephants with the backdrop of Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro. Writers have described Ol Tukai and the surrounding Amboseli National Park as a 'home for the Gods.’ Ol Tukai is an eco-rated lodge having excellent outdoor and indoor facilities with its unique collection of African art. The property receives an overwhelming response from the international and local tourism market.
Set in one hundred and fifty acres of grassland studded with Acacia bushes and trees, the resort is not only home to the resident giraffes, waterbucks, and both Vervet and Colobus monkeys. It is also a night stop for the hippos when they leave the lake every night to come and trim the grass on the expansive lawns. With Sopa’s traditional and conscientious care for the environment, all the buildings have been carefully positioned on the property no trees were cut.
As a result of this, the lodge had to come up with a radically innovative and artistic design for the main public area building which now snakes its way between the trees with long and graceful curves. For this reason, the two swimming pools with a children’s section and a pool complex with its bar, snack kitchen, pizzeria, health spa, tennis court, two conference halls with their four differently sized meeting areas, and stables are so widely set apart.
Other facilities in the lodge include sundowners, a gift shop, board games, outdoor dining, free Wi-Fi, sauna, and wheelchair-accessible rooms. Rooms include bedroom kettles, hairdryers, telephones, and a television. The lodge also has adjoining rooms, babysitting services, laundry, and turndown service. Other activities you may want to indulge in at the lodge are fishing, horseriding, birdwatching, and nature walks.
Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge is nestled along the Lion Hill overlooking the spectacular flamingo pink-rimmed Lake Nakuru. Its location affords panoramic views of the lake and the picturesque Lake Nakuru National Park. A short two-hour drive from Nairobi, Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge is a favorite with residents and visitors to Kenya. The Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge is cleverly laid out in such a way that most rooms and sitting areas afford stunning views of the lake and the park.
The lodge incorporates natural landscaping with tall acacia trees, winding walkways, and greens dotted with bird feeds. Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge accommodation, beautiful scenery, and cozy atmosphere will bring relaxation to your soul immediately. The lodge is presently considered one of the best Great Rift Valley Lodges in Kenya. It has a dining area and a relaxing spa.
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and meet with your driver / guide and then transfer to Southern Sun Hotel in Nairobi City. You will have dinner and overnight at your hotel. There are no activities planned for today to allow for time to settle down in Nairobi and prepare for the epic safari experience.
You will be picked up from your city hotel at 07:30 and drive to Amboseli National Park, arriving at noon at the lodge. There you will have time to check in and have lunch. Later on, depart for an afternoon game drive until sunset.
Amboseli National Park is everyone’s classic image of East Africa: herds of great animals moving across the dusty plains with the snow-capped peak of Kilimanjaro rising straight up in the background. Mount Kilimanjaro is Africa’s highest mountain at 19,340 feet (5,895 meters). Although it is situated inside Tanzania, the best views of the mountain are from Amboseli on the Kenyan side of the border. Meals and overnight will be at Amboseli Ol Tukai Lodge on a full-board basis.
After breakfast, depart at 06:30 and drive onto the floor of the Great Rift Valley arriving at Lake Naivasha at 11:30. Between 11:30 and 15:00 you will have time to relax and enjoy the cool climate and the birds that swarm the lakeside. You will have lunch at the Lake Naivasha Country Club. Later depart to take a boat ride which will take you up to Crescent Island for approximately 3 hours.
Lake Naivasha is known for its large hippo life; it is also the country’s second-largest freshwater lake. Bird lovers will find a haven of over 350 bird species and there are plenty of more common animals like antelopes, hippos, and buffalo. Those seeking an expedition of a lifetime will enjoy a fulfilling boat trip, which by far is the best way to explore the lake. Meals and overnight will be at Naivasha Sopa Lodge.
You will depart at 06:30 after breakfast and drive to Lake Bogoria arriving at approximately 09:00. There you will be shown around for a couple of hours and have an early lunch. Lake Bogoria is a popular place for its hot, warm, and cold geyser springs, which were formed due to volcanic activity.
At noon you will depart for Lake Nakuru, arriving at approximately 14:00. Then you will check in at the hotel and depart for the afternoon game drive at Lake Nakuru National Park until sunset. Lake Nakuru is a bird paradise with hundreds of thousands of pink flamingos and pelicans, as well as rhinos, (white and black) buffalo, lion, and the rare bushbuck are also present. Meals and overnight are at Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge.
After breakfast, depart at 07:00 and drive further southwest through the floor of the Great Rift Valley to Maasai Mara. You will arrive there at 13:00 at the camp / hotel and have lunch. You will then have an afternoon game drive in the vast Mara Plains in search of predators such as the lions with dark manes, cheetahs, leopards, and many herbivores, especially during the yearly migration of wildebeest.
Maasai Mara Game Reserve covers 700 square miles of magnificent wilderness. It is the Africa of the imagination; endless reaches of acacia-dotted grasslands studded with hazy hills. It’s the land of the African legend: lions are abundant throughout the park, as are the elephants, giraffes, and a variety of gazelle species and zebra. Meals and overnight are at La Maison Mara Camp.
You have a full two days in the Mara dedicated to full-day game viewing depending on your preferences. You have the option of visiting the Maasai village or going on a balloon safari (at an extra cost).
In case you opt for the balloon safari, here is the itinerary: Depending on where you are staying, you will be picked up very early in the morning and transferred by a 4×4 jeep to the launching site at 05:00. Here you will meet your pilot, receive a briefing, and watch the inflation of your balloon. You will take off at dawn, rising as the sun rises, and float in whichever direction the winds of the morning take you. Your pilot can precisely control the altitude of your balloon. Upon landing, you can observe the complete deflation of the balloon and be ready for a full bush breakfast. Meals and overnight will be at the lodge.
At 06:30, you can go for a morning game drive before breakfast. Return to the lodge at 09:00 for breakfast and then depart to Nairobi for your day rooms. On arrival, you will be transferred back to the hotel for an overnight or to the airport for your journey back home. Lunch will be on your own arrangement. Optional excursions in Nairobi can be arranged at an extra cost.
On this day they will transfer you to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight home.
End of tour.
Masai Mara National Reserve is located in southwest Kenya and is a vast scenic expanse of gently rolling African savannah plains measuring 1510 square kilometers in area and bordering the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania to the south.
Masai Mara is a unique wildlife conservation haven famous for its spectacular natural diversity of wildlife and is the premier Kenya safari location in East Africa, offering visitors numerous reasons to visit this animal paradise. Large numbers of lions, cheetahs, elephants, rhinos, African buffalo, wildebeest, giraffes, zebra, and many more animals are found in the park in their natural habitat, unconfined and free to roam the vast Kenyan wilderness stretching for miles on end.
It is no surprise that tourists from the world over travel here to experience a Masai Mara safari tour, more so as the reserve has been voted one of the new Seven Wonders of the World. Regarding the origin of the name, the word 'Masai' comes from the Maasai tribe, nomadic inhabitants of the area and the word 'Mara' is their word for 'spotted', referring to the ubiquitous flat topped acacia trees, shrubs and bushes that dot the landscape across most of the reserve.
The package includes a full board meal plan while on safari and 1 liter of drinking water per person per day while on safari.
