Set in the heart of the Aberdare National Park, The Ark Lodge is iconic and, yes, quirky. The Ark Lodge overlooks a floodlit waterhole and salt lick which attracts a host of awesome wildlife. Resembling and named after Noah’s Ark, The Ark Lodge comprises of three decks from which numerous balconies and lounges provide a superb location for wildlife to be seen.
Located in the Aberdare National Park, the Treetops Hotel is famous as the place where Queen Elizabeth II visited as a princess and left as queen. Originally built in 1932, Treetops Hotel lies in the path of an ancient elephant migratory route between the Aberdare Ranges and Mount Kenya National park. It includes observation lounges and ground-level photographic hides from which guests can observe the local wildlife which comes to the nearby waterholes and salt lick, making it the perfect place to view the game.
Samburu Sopa Lodge consists of 15 cottages, each with two bedrooms. They are built in an arch formation on either side of the public around the watering hole. The cottages, to a degree, mimic traditional Samburu style architecture.
Samburu Game Lodge is set in 10 acres of pristine riverine forest on the western bank of the Uaso Nyiro River within the Samburu National Reserve in northern Kenya at an altitude of 857 meters above sea level. All cottages, rooms, and suites, numbering 61 in total, are decorated using the finest materials and fabrics. All accommodations have en-suite bathrooms, some with baths, and they also have private balconies overlooking the river. There are several family rooms. One room has been custom-designed to accommodate the special needs of physically challenged persons.
Situated in the southeastern ecological niche of the park is the Lake Nakuru Lodge. It is an oasis of comfort and excellent services with commanding views of the lesser flamingo interspersed with the greater flamingo for which Lake Nakuru is justly famous. It is another world for the visitors where one easily forgets the hustle and bustle of the city. The lodge blends in well with the surroundings and the animals often browse peacefully close to the lodge and environs, much to the fascination of the visitors.
There is an accommodation for 120 people either in family rooms, cottages, or suites. The service is unmatched anywhere in Kenya, a country renowned for its hospitality. Above all, the staff is friendly and competent. There is an excellent cuisine which includes outside catering, bush barbecues, African nights, and sundowners. After a day’s game watching, the spacious logged Mama Nikki Bar, the cool upstairs Rhino Paddock Cocktail Bar overlooking the lake, and guest enticing blue swimming pool can be particularly inviting. There are also interesting and varied evening entertainment and slideshows for the guests.
Located in Lake Nakuru National Park, Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge is nestled along the Lion Hill overlooking the spectacular flamingo pink rimmed Lake Nakuru. Its location affords panoramic views of the lake and the picturesque Lake Nakuru National Park. Sarova Mara Game Camp is nestled within the heart of the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Surrounded by two streams, the camp also features exotic trees, a large fish pond, and a Maasai village adjoining the camp. The accommodation ranges with a variety of tents. There is a main restaurant, bar, and many bush dining options. The free-form swimming pool has its own pool bar.
The 20 tents offer breathtaking views of the Mara plains and they are luxurious, extremely spacious, and decorated in whites and soothing earthy colors with large beds, loungers, wardrobes, and a desk. The bathrooms are appointed with his and her sinks and a bath in addition to the shower. Moreover, the club tents have glass panel doors and a deck outside for game viewing and private dining.
You will firstly visit the Aberdare mountain range with its fabulous waterfalls, great views of Mount Kenya, and endemic wildlife such as the mountain bongo. Then, you will go to Samburu National Reserve, a rugged and semi-desert park located in Samburu County in the Rift Valley Province of Kenya. The park neighbors the homes of the Samburu tribe of Kenya, a tribe known for their remote culture, pastoral, and nomadic way of life.
Furthermore, you will see flamingoes (greater and lesser) and other water birds including a variety of over 450 terrestrial birds in Lake Nakuru. Finally, you will be heading to the savannah plains of the Maasai Mara to track down all the Big Five.
Pick up from Nairobi hotel and depart to Aberdare National Park. On arrival at the base hotel, check-in followed by lunch. In the afternoon, proceed to a tree hotel at the ABERDARE NATIONAL PARK for an afternoon game drive. The tree hotels provide spectacular viewing perches for afternoon and night game viewing. Today will be spend in Samburu reserve with morning and afternoon game drives along the banks of Ewaso Nyiro river, in search of the unique rare species only found north of equator that include the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebras, Beisa oryxes, giraffe necked gazelle (gerenuk), and the Blue-necked Somali Ostrich. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Samburu Sopa Lodge
After breakfast at your lodge/camp, check-out departing via Thomson’s Falls to Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive in time for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive around the lake. Dinner and overnight will be at Lake Nakuru Lodge
Enjoy Bird watching bird and game viewing drives along the shores of Lake Nakuru National Park. Depart to Kenya’s finest wildlife haven Masai Mara Game Reserve arriving in good time for lunch and rest. After an early morning breakfast you will have a full day game drives on the rolling plains and grasslands of the Masai Mara Game Reserve. It is in Masai Mara that the most spectacular migration event of the world takes place. Also known as 'The 7th Wonder of the World' because of the Great migration, witnessed every year between June and September, when millions of wildebeests and zebras cross Mara River from Serengeti National Park in Tanzania to Masai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya.
