Location

Bardia National Park is an untouched and unspoiled habitat for wild animals including the largest population (per square kilometer) of the endangered Bengal tiger. Considered as one of the most picturesque national parks in Asia, it covers an area of 968 square kilometers and is situated in the mid-far western Terai region of Nepal. Animals such as bear, wild boar, leopards, rhinoceros, wild elephants, black buck, deer, monkeys, crocodiles, and river dolphins are also found. The park boasts of having more than 350 species of birds.

Royal Bardia National Park is smaller than Chitwan National Park but houses the same exotic animals and jungle environment of the Tarai. The park office situated 20 kilometers southwest along the Highway. There are numerous lodges and hotel resorts so there is no real problem with accommodation. However, there is more tourist in-season time so it's better to have an advance booking before your departure.

Bardia is more isolated then Chitwan and that is the reason it has fewer resorts and fewer visitors. However, this also adds to the excitement of exploring this jungle. All resorts are at the border of the national park and numerous jungle activities are possible. There are wide verities of jungle activities available in both parks.
