Program

Day 1: Chitwan National Park

  • 13:30-14:00 Arriving in Chitwan

After six hours' drive from Kathmandu or five hours from Pokhara, you will arrive at the hotel at about 13:30 to 14:00. It would be a good time to have some meal.

  • 15:00 Village tour and visiting Elephant Stable

Of all the animals, elephants are probably the most graceful. Pigeon Travel and Treks' naturalists will take you to show Elephant Stable. They will explain the nature and habits of elephants. The unique center was established in 1985 for the captive breeding of domesticated elephants trapping for domestication.

In Chitwan, there is Tharu social groups, which they will show their unique performance. In the evening, before dinner, Tharu cultural dance performances used to be held. Along this performance, you will be holding drinks and roasted meats to make you more entertainer.

Day 2: Chitwan National Park

Canoe ride is an active package program. This is included in every package. Canoe ride along the Rapti River will be an excellent opportunity for bird watching and for seeing the two rare species of crocodiles; the marsh mugger and the fish-eating gharial. Take an exciting and invigorating walk through the lush sub-tropical jungles of Chitwan. Pigeon Travel and Treks' trained naturalists take you to prime spots to view deer, rhinos, sloth bears, and other wildlife. They will also give you interesting information about the various plants and animals of the jungle throughout your walk.

  • 13:30 Jeep safari

Jeep drive one of the active and exciting activities for jungle safari. Jeep drive is included in this three nights four days package but on your special request, it can be done on the day you refer. Jeep drive goes through the grasslands, river in forests and sal forests to Kasara (the national park’s headquarters) Gharial Hatchery Farm where you will learn about how crocodiles are brought up at this farm and then later released into the rivers.

Chitwan is the best destination for bird watching. The birds found here are cormorants, lesser adjutant stork, blue Indian roller, hornbills, stork-billed kingfishers, grey-headed eagles, ruby cheeked sunbird, Bengal florican, large-tailed night jar, Asian paradise flycatcher, beaters, and lesser florican etc. More than 500 species have been recorded only in Chitwan.

This safari will take you to explore Chitwan National Park. Chitwan National Park is one of the premier drawcards in Nepal. This world heritage-listed reserve protects more than 932 square kilometers of forests, marshland. and grassland containing sizeable animal populations, making it one of the best national parks for viewing wildlife in Asia.

The Chitwan National Park, Nepal’s first national park lies at the foot of the Himalayas in the Inner Terai lowlands of Chitwan. Covering an area of 932 square kilometers, the park extends over decidhuhh uous forest foothills and river floodplains. The park is rich in its variety of vegetation and wildlife. The park provides one of the last habitats for endangered species like the Asiatic one-horned rhinoceros and the Bengal tiger. Chitwan National Park was officially established in 1973 and included as Natural Heritage Site in 1984.
