Bardia Adventure Resort

Established in the year 1990, with over twenty years of experience, Bardia Adventure Resort is located right at the heart of the National Park just right next to the river. Bardia Adventure Resort boasts of being the resort with the biggest property with a lovely garden. Bardia Adventure Resort is the only resort with a watchtower for sightseeing of animals and birds (leopards have been sighted by guests many times). There is also a 60 seater conference hall for meetings or seminars. It is the only resort in entire Nepal that has a Sheesha or Hookah Lounge. The guests get the entire Bardia Adventure trip with the highly experienced and knowledgeable guides.

Cottages

The newly furnished cottages have twin-sharing and double bedrooms which are tastefully done up in tune with surrounding natural landscape and consisting of the attached bathroom with 24 hours hot water and universal socket for use of electronic devices. Each room has its own private balcony.

Tharu Huts

Guests can experience a stay at the traditional Tharu Huts which have been set up in typical Tharu style. The huts are all made up of mud and bricks with attached bathrooms. Designed specially to experience the raw jungle experience!

Restaurant

There are two restaurants at the resort, which are Golghar, also known as the Round House at the heart of the resort, which has a well-stocked bar and caters Nepali as well as Continental cuisine. And also The Tower restaurant, situated at the top of a tower, a private and exciting area from where cheetah's and birds can be spotted.

Overview

Wilderness and relatively unexplored deep jungles of far western Nepal where wildlife is more than abundant. Bardia National Park has extensive and varied wildlife-all endangered rhinoceros, wild elephants, the Royal Bengal tiger, swamp deer, blackbuck, gharial crocodile, and Gangetic dolphins. More than 30 different mammals, over 400 species of birds, many snakes, lizards, and fish have been sighted and recorded in the park's forest, grassland, and river habitats. Among these include langur monkey, common leopard, jungle cat, fishing cat, large and small Indian civets, mongoose, hyena, wild dog, jackal, sloth bear, otter, porcupine, bandicoots, blue bull, Sambar deer, hog deer, barking deer, wild boar, and many more.

Jeep safaris is available, others might enjoy a jungle walk with an experienced guide who can tell you all about the wildlife and vegetation that is unique to the Terai region.

Itinerary

Day 1: Bardia National Park

On your arrival at Ambasa Stand, the staff will receive you. You will then be transferred to resort. On reaching the resort, the guest relations officer will brief guests.

  • 15:00 Village tour to a nearby ethnic, Tharu village, where you will learn more about the life and lifestyle of the Tharus.

Day 2: Bardia National Park

  • 05:30 Wake up call followed by tea / coffee

  • 15:00 Jungle walk. An excellent opportunity to see the wild animals, small mammals, birds and waits in the two have the wild sightseeing, accompanied by the experienced naturalists and wildlife tracker. Excellent photographic opportunities are plentiful.

Location

Bardia National Park

Royal Bardia National Park is smaller than Chitwan National Park but houses the same exotic animals and jungle environment of the Tarai. To reach the Royal Bardia national park, there are daily flights as well as public buses from Kathmandu to Nepalganj. The park office situated 20 kilometers southwest along the highway. There are numerous lodges and hotel resorts so there is no real problem with accommodation. However, there is more tourist in-season time so better to have an advance booking before your departure.

Bardia is more isolated then Chitwan that is the reason it has fewer resorts and fewer visitors. But this also adds to the excitement of exploring this jungle. All resorts are at the border of the national park and numerous jungle activities are possible. There are wide verities of jungle activities available in this park.

This package includes breakfasts, lunches, and dinner. Menus vary from one country to another, but a typical day's meals would be as follows: The staple food of Nepalese people is "daal, bhaat, tarkari" (lentil soup, curried vegetables with rice).

Since Nepal is a Hindu kingdom, beef is strictly prohibited among both the Hindus and Buddhist. Hence it is a little bit difficult to find restaurants that offer beef. Do not eat roadside food that is exposed in the open air. Avoid buying and eating raw and unpeeled fruit and vegetables.
