This trip begin and end in the city of Cusco, through the Sacred Valley of the Incas and down in to the South Peruvian rainforest providing and covering all the group operating cost in the number of days allocated for the trip. Cusco, the ancient capital of the Inca Empire was declared a World Heritage Site in 1983 by UNESCO and today is one of the Peru's most visited cities, a beautiful city with a blend of Inca and Colonial Spanish architecture. During this tour, you will be accommodated at Paradise or Cock of the Rock Lodge, Tambo Blanquillo, and Hummingbird Lodge. Accommodations will be in double or triple rooms.


Day 1: Cusco - Cloud Forest (3350-11000ft/1450m-4760ft)

You leave Cusco at 7:00 a.m. in your private vehicle through the impressive eastern ranges of the high Andes, through typical villages that still preserve their traditions, culture and language (Quechua), Paucartambo is the most important, that is a picturesque colonial town of buildings with balconies of blue color, its bridge Carlos III of lime and stone of 1775 on the river Mapacho, its viceregal temple at the end of the 17th century, and you cannot leave without first to taste their delicious breads that are also part of the appeal of this town. you then continue to Acjanaco pass (3465m-11370ft), place where the Manu National Park begins, surrounded by a beautiful grassland forest, which is an impressive ecosystem at high altitude in part of the Peruvian Andes that concentrates unique fauna, such as (spectacled bear, deer, foxes and many rodents), definitely a good place to have lunch and take photos.

Then, you will begin to descend through the elfin forest and the high jungle, perceiving the changes of the vegetation very fast becoming increasingly dense, and thus housing much more biodiversity of flora, fauna and colorful birds, such as (orchids, begonias, passion fruits, jaguarundi, tayra, toucans, quetzals, trogons, jays, tyrants, etc.), and so, you will arrive to your lodge located in the mystical cloud forest ecosystem, to enjoy a quiet and peaceful night away from the hustle and bustle of the city (Paradise or Cock of the Rock Lodge) 24 hrs. hot water for shower, bedroom with private bathroom, bar, power 6-10 pm only to recharge batteries. Included meals: lunch and dinner

Day 2: Cloud Forest - Blanquillo (300m-985ft)

Early wake up and short drive to reach a hidden platform where the beautiful Cock of the rock (Peruvian national bird) displays at dawn, this is an amazing show to see, as up to 15-20 bright red orange males trying to attract orange brown females. After visiting this place you return to your lodge for a delicious breakfast for later continue your trip by car descending to the lowland forest through typical villages surrounded by agriculture (bananas, pineapples, coca plants, yuca, etc.) Once having reached the town of Atalaya, you will embark on your comfortable motor boat to navigate downstream for 7 hrs. approximately by the Madre de Dios river (Amazonas river tributary), lunch on board as well as the sighting of some birds species that commonly inhabit the rivers, such as (egrets, herons, cormorants, spoonbills, lapwings etc).

You then arrive to your lodge for later get ready with your flashlights for your night walk, and thus reach to Blanquillo oxbow lake where you will spend a good night time sailing on a catamaran to enjoy the night life of the rainforest, seeing the eyes of alligators with the reflection of your lights, fruit bats flying around you almost touching your noses, and depending on the good weather conditions you could have a night of stars. Dinner and also a well-deserved rest accompanied by the beautiful nocturnal sounds of this natural place that will provide you with a good deep sleep. (Tambo Blanquillo) bedroom with shared bathroom, bed with mosquito net, 24 hours hot water for shower, and no power. Included meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 3: Blanquillo

Very early wake up, you then have a short navigate and walk to reach a blind platform which is located just in front of the clay lick, this is truly one of the most wonderful natural spectacles that congregate mostly macaws, parrots, and parakeets where they have to eat the mineral rich clay that is essential to their digestion, this place is a section of the banks in Madre de Dios river 7m/22ft high and 300m/985ft long, eating clay is mainly to neutralize the toxins of the green fruits from which these birds feed, and are not found in foods from their normal diet. Breakfast on the platform and you will continue to enjoy this show for almost until mid-morning, you then return walking towards the boat just to take you back to the lodge.

Once there, relax and enjoy a delicious lunch to recover energy to be ready for an afternoon activity, so, you will do a gentle walk and thus reach the Camungo oxbow lake where you have a rowing catamaran which you will use to sail on the lake and start exploring the wildlife which focuses on this habitat, such as (alligators, turtles, monkeys, herons, egrets, kingfishers, flycatchers and much more), and then you will go up to an observation tower to enjoy the sunset and the view of the lake from a height of 40m/131feet, which was built next to an impressive giant tree (ceiba) you will definitely like this experience especially for photos or just to relax. Dinner and a well-deserved rest (Tambo Blanquillo) Included meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 4: Blanquillo - Boca Manu (380m-1248ft)

Early breakfast, and a short navigate to reach the Blanco oxbow lake where also you will embark on your catamaran to sail it, so, this lake is much bigger than the one you visited the day before, giving you more opportunities to see wildlife, such as (giant otters, turtles, alligators, monkeys, eagles, hawks, limpkins, anhinga, horned screamers, ibises) and much more. you then return to the lodge to pack all your belongings, have lunch and then begin to return sailing upstream for 3 hrs. towards Boca Manu where is located your lodge

Once there, you will be ready for another gentle walk to keep learning about the nature of this place. Dinner and a well-deserved rest (Hummingbird Lodge) rustic basic lodge, bedroom with private bathroom, bed with mosquito net, cold shower, power 6-9 pm only. Included meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 5: Boca Manu - Cloud Forest

Breakfast, and heading up the Madre de Dios river for 8hrs, approximately, and as this will be a long day of sailing, you will have time to swim or to soak for a good moment in the hot springs that is on the way to Atalaya town, and it is there that you will finish your trip by boat and that is why part of your crew will stay there, then continue by car to your lodge in the cloud forest, to enjoy a delicious dinner, a glass of wine, a well-deserved rest and also spend the last night of this wonderful trip in this unique ecosystem. (Paradise or Cock of the Rock lodge) Included meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 6: Cloud Forest - Cusco

Late breakfast, because probably you will be a little tired and also the return to Cusco will be only about 6-7 hours, optional morning walk by the road for 2 hrs. approximately or as long as you want, or just relax on your terrace having a cup of coffee enjoying the peace and quiet of this wonderful place for a little while, or after breakfast get in your vehicle and start the return to Cusco, of course you will have short stops to stretch the legs or just for photos, lunch on the route and you expect to arrive in Cusco around 4:00 pm. Included meals: breakfast and lunch.


Starting off and ending at Cusco, this tour will take you through Cloud Forest, Blanquillo, Manu National Park, and Boca Manu.
