AA Lodge Amboseli

AA Amboseli Lodge is built in a three-tier architectural design and is strategically located two kilometers from Amboseli National Park's main gate (Kimana Gate) and conveniently within the Emali-Loitoktok tarmac road. It is 240 kilometers from Nairobi, 16 kilometers from Amboseli airstrip, 20 kilometers from the Emali, and 20 kilometers from the Emali-Loitoktok tarmac road.

It commands a panoramic view of the snow-capped Mt. Kilimanjaro, the world’s Standing Mountain. With 60 rooms, the lodge is intimate and friendly with many personal touches. The lodge also has drones for guests willing to use them for game drives for photography and videography.

There are 29 classic tents, 24 classic cottages and for those looking for a more luxurious experience, the 7 superior rooms will no doubt meet the best of the expectations. Rhino Valley Lodge

The Rhino Valley Lodge has 16 rooms, all self contained rooms with a private veranda, and a great view of animals in the near pool.

Voi Wildlife Lodge

Officially opened in 2003, the lodge is situated on a 25-acre site on the boundary of Tsavo East National Park, one of Kenya’s largest game parks with spectacular views of nearby volcanic outcrops, such as the Kasigau, Sagalla and Mwakingali Hills. Designed to blend unassumingly into the surrounding environment, the lodge boasts a natural waterhole often attracting big game, including elephant, lion, cheetah, buffalo as well as a rich variety of birdlife.

Accommodating up to 300 guests, all rooms have spacious en-suite bathrooms and are furnished in African decor that is replicated throughout the lodge. The luxury rooms comprise two four-poster beds and views of the savannah, which one can enjoy from the comfort of one’s balcony or terrace.

Program

Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli National National Park

Early morning pick up from the hotel and drive along Mombasa road with a stopover at Emali tourist souvenir shop for a bathroom break and afterward, drive to the lodge in time for lunch.

Evening game drive and later dinner at the lodge. Dinner and overnight at AA Lodge Amboseli.

Day 2: Full day at Amboseli National Park

Early morning game drive to get a glimpse of Mt Kilimanjaro and also a chance to view the park from the viewpoint. On this day, you can choose to have a full-day game drive with picnic lunches or morning and afternoon game viewing.

Amboseli National Park is famous for its scenery with a backdrop of snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro, which dominates the landscape, and open plains. Arrive with more game drive proceeding to your lodge for check-in, then it's time for lunch. Check-in at AA Lodge Amboseli and have lunch with a short rest.

Enjoy an afternoon game drive in search of its popular residents like the well-known predators and their opponents like the zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, and hippo with a view of Mt Kilimanjaro. Dinner and overnight at AA Lodge Amboseli.

Day 3: Amboseli to Tsavo West National Park

Early in the morning, you have your breakfast and go for a game drive in the park as you drive out to Tsavo West National Park.

Tsavo West is a more popular destination on account of its magnificent scenery, Mzima Springs, rich and varied wildlife, good road system, rhino reserve, rock climbing potential, and guided walks along the Tsavo River.

Arrive in time for lunch, and check in at rhino valley. You will have lunch and a short rest before you go for the afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Rhino Valley Lodge.

Day 4: Tsavo West National Park - Tsavo East National Park

Early morning breakfast then check out of the lodge with a game drive en route, arriving in time for lunch and check-in. Take a short rest as you wait for an afternoon game drive.

This park is considered one of the world's biodiversity strongholds, and its popularity is mostly due to the vast amounts of diverse wildlife that can be seen, including the famous 'big five' consisting of lion, black rhino, cape buffalo, elephant, and leopard. The park is also home to a great variety of bird life such as the, crowned crane, black kite, and the sacred ibis. Tsavo East National Park is generally flat, with dry plains across which the Galana River flows. Other features include the Yatta Plateau and Lugard falls.

Dinner and overnight at Voi Wildlife Lodge.

Day 5: Tsavo East to Nairobi

Early morning breakfast as you start your morning game drive, en-route there are higher chances of seeing the predators. Later, depart back to Nairobi and you will be dropped off at your hotel within Nairobi or the airport.

Location

You will be able to see Mount Kilimanjaro as you do your game drives in Amboseli. Flamingoes have migrated from other lakes to Lake Amboseli. This is an added bonus. You will visit the observation hill in Amboseli, where you will walk out of the car and be able to see a panoramic view of the park with elephants down below drinking water.

You will visit the Mzima springs in Tsavo West. Here is the source of water for the whole of the coastal province. You will also see the effects of the flow of the volcanoes on the Chyulu hills.
