The lodge is spread on 30 acres of land, uniquely laid out over the sprawling grounds that include rolling manicured greens, a virtual mini forest of indigenous shrubs and exotic trees, a large swimming pool overlooking the lodge bonfire, the main restaurant and bar. The lodge has 42 classic tents, 36 cottages, a main restaurant, bar and several dining options.

Program

Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara

Start your three-day adventure with an early pick-up from your accommodation in Nairobi or the airport. The safari begins at 8:00 a.m. depending on the hotel. If you arrive on a morning flight, Perfect Wilderness Tours and Safaris will be able to pick you up at the airport and transfer you to the starting point.

You will be transferred to Maasai Mara using the Narok Route. On your way, you will stop at a view point where you will get a chance to see the Great Rift Valley escarpment and also spot Mount Longonot which used to be active but now is dormant. Proceed on the three-hour drive to the town of Narok where you will stop for a 15-minute fuel and bathroom break.

Upon arrival to Masaai Mara National Reserve, you will see vast vegetation areas and also spot some animals like the zebra, giraffe, topi, and Thompson gazelle, among many others. After a one-hour drive, you will arrive at AA Lodge Mara and the staff will brief you about your stay. Lunch will be served at the lodge and later you will go on an evening game drive, after which you can settle in for dinner and then sleep.

Day 2: Full day in Masai Mara

Spend the full day exploring Maasai Mara in search of the big five. You will have picnic lunches in the reserve as you scale the Mara beauty sited on the banks of Mara River. In the evening, you have the option to visit the local Maasai village for a Maasai cultural tour for an additional 20 USD. Learn about the Maasai community and interact with the local Maasai people. A balloon safari at a discounted 380 USD per person can be organized early in the morning on this day. Then you will proceed with the normal program.

It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place: the great migration. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeests and zebras from the Serengeti (in Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna, lions, cheetahs, jackals, hyenas, and vultures.

Day 3: Mara to Nairobi

Capture the sun rise on the horizon on an early morning game drive. Eat a late breakfast and then depart for Nairobi. Your tour ends with a drop-off at your hotel or accommodation of choice.
