Program

Day 1: Nairobi to Maasai Mara National Reserve

At 8 o'clock you will be picked up from your Nairobi hotel and commence the drive to Maasai Mara. You will pass via the Great Rift Valley viewpoint where you will have a stopover of 10 -15 minutes to view the Rift Valley. Lunch will be at the lodge in Maasai Mara. In the afternoon after you check in, depart for a sunset evening game viewing drive in the Mara Reserve (4 to 6 p.m.).

Maasai Mara National Reserve is the most popular tourism destination in Kenya located in the Great Rift Valley in primarily open grassland. Wildlife is most concentrated on the reserve’s western escarpment. It's regarded as the jewel of Kenya’s wildlife viewing areas. The annual wildebeest’s migration alone involves over 1.5 million animals arriving in July and departing in November. Hardly can a visitor miss to spot the Big Five. The phenomenal wildebeest migration which is a spectacular event only seen in Maasai Mara is the seventh wonder of the world.

Day 2: Full day Maasai Mara

At around 7 a.m. after breakfast, you will leave for a full day exploring Maasai Mara in search of the Big Five. At midday, you will have picnic lunch in the park which is provided by Perfect Safaris. You will visit the site of the yearly wildebeest migration and see the resident crocodiles and hippos sited at the banks of Mara river.

It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place: the great migration. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (in Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna – lions, cheetahs, jackals, hyenas, and vultures.

Day 3: Maasai Mara to Serengeti via Isebania Border

Eat breakfast at 7 a.m. Take a morning game drive for 2 hours and exit through the South Gate with packed lunch. Drive to the Isebania border of Tanzania to arrive around midday. Complete the hour-long process to cross the Tanzania border. Meet your Tanzanian driver/guide and chef. Start the game drive in Serengeti en-route game drive to the accommodation.

Day 4: Full day Serengeti National Reserve

Breakfast at 7 a.m. Full-day game drive in Serengeti and picnic lunch at 1 p.m., then back to the camp/lodge for dinner and overnight. Serengeti National Park, in northern Tanzania, is known for its massive annual migration of wildebeest and zebra. Seeking new pasture, the herds move north from their breeding grounds in the grassy southern plains. Many cross the marshy western corridor’s crocodile-infested Grumeti River. Others veer northeast to the Lobo Hills, home to black eagles. Black rhinos inhabit the granite outcrops of the Moru Kopjes.

Day 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro

Depart Serengeti at 7 a.m. Game drive en route to Ngorongoro Park with picnic lunch.

Day 6: Ngororngoro Crater full day tour

It’s home to the vast, volcanic Ngorongoro Crater and “Big 5” game (elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino). Huge herds of wildebeests and zebras traverse its plains during their annual migration. Livestock belonging to the semi-nomadic Maasai tribe graze alongside wild animals. Hominin fossils found in the Olduvai Gorge date back millions of years.
