It commands a panoramic view of the snow-capped Mt. Kilimanjaro, the world’s Standing Mountain. With 60 rooms, the lodge is intimate and friendly with many personal touches. The lodge also has drones for guests willing to use them for game drives for photography and videography.
Between 7:00 and 7:30 a.m., you will be picked up from your hotel within the Nairobi city center or Westland’s and commence the drive to Maasai Mara via the Great Rift Valley view point where you will have a breathtaking view of the floor of the Rift Valley. Here, you will see the semi-active Mount Longonot and two other dormant volcanic mountains, Mount Suswa and Mount Margret, for 10 minutes.
You will arrive in time for lunch. Check in the hotel. Later at 4:00 p.m., depart for a two-hour sunset game viewing drive in the Mara Reserve until 6:00 p.m. Return to the camp for a sumptuous buffet dinner ending with good time for resting at the camp. Early breakfast at 6:30 a.m. and depart for a full-day game viewing. This is the most important day since you are hoping to see the big five, especially the big cats which are extremely elusive. Also, you will visit the famous Mara River where the great migration happens, have a guided tour by the rangers to see the Nile crocodiles and hippo families, and just to top it off, have a picnic lunch under a tree in the park overlooking the vast landscapes.
It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place: the great migration. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (in Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna: lions, cheetahs, jackals, hyenas, and vultures. You will have breakfast at the camp or lodge and thereafter, drive to Nakuru via Lake Naivasha for a one-hour boat ride with lunch. On this day, you have an optional visit to Masai Village in Maasai Mara in the morning before leaving. The village visit costs 20 USD per person (paid in cash at the village). Arrive at Nakuru in the late evening. Dinner and overnight at Buraha Hotel or similar.
You will have an early breakfast, check out, and depart by 7:00 a..m to straight to Lake Nakuru National Park for a game drive. It is a small park with magnificent, rare white rhinos which form part of the Big Five animals. The game drive lasts for a minimum of four hours. There is also a possibility to see the pink flamingoes.
In this park, you will also spot the rare endangered Rothschild giraffe. Thereafter, drive to Amboseli National Park with lunch on the way at Naivasha Kifaru Travellers Motel. Arrive at Amboseli in the evening. You will not go on a game drive because of late arrival in Amboseli. Dinner and overnight at Sentrim Amboseli Lodge, AA Lodge, or similar.
Early morning breakfast. After breakfast, you will spend the full day in the park with a packed lunch in search of its popular residents like the well-known predators and their opponents like the zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, and hippos with a view of Mount Kilimanjaro. Dinner and overnight at Sentrim Amboseli Lodge or AA Lodge.
You will have a last day early morning game drive, higher chances of seeing the predators. Back to the hotel, have morning breakfast, check out, and then start your drive back to Nairobi and you will be dropped off at the hotel or airport. End of safari.
