At 8 o'clock you will be picked up from your Nairobi hotel and commence the drive to Maasai Mara. You will pass via the Great Rift Valley viewpoint where you will have a stop over of 10-15 minutes to view the Rift Valley. Lunch will be at the camp in Maasai Mara. In the afternoon after you check in, depart for a sunset evening game viewing drive in the Mara Reserve (4 to 6 p.m). Return back to the camp for buffet dinner, ending with good time for resting at Rhino Tourist Camp or similar. The tents have toilet, shower, bed, linen, and mosquito nets. Electricity is provided from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the evening. Also from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. in the morning.

Masai Mara Reserve is the most popular tourism destination in Kenya, located in the Great Rift Valley in primarily open grassland. Wildlife is most concentrated on the reserve’s western escarpment. It's regarded as the jewel of Kenya’s wildlife viewing areas.

Day 2: Full day game drive in Masai Mara Reserve

At around 7 a.m. after breakfast, you will leave for a full day exploring Masai Mara in search of the Big Five. The annual wildebeest’s migration alone involves over 1.5 million animals arriving in July and departing in November. The phenomenal wildebeest migration which is a spectacular event only seen in Maasai Mara is the seventh wonder of the world. At midday, you will have picnic lunch in the park which is provided by Perfect Safaris. You will visit the site of the yearly wildebeest migration and see the resident crocodiles and hippos sighted at the banks of Mara River, then continue with the game drive of the Mara Reserve.

Day 3: Depart Maasai Mara to Nakuru

Early breakfast then checkout followed by a short morning game drive in the Mara Reserve. Thereafter commence drive to Nakuru. Upon arrival at 6 p.m. you will spend the night at the Lanet Matfam Resort and have dinner there.

Day 4 : Nakuru to Nairobi

You will have an early breakfast then checkout and depart by 7 a.m. straight to the park. It's a small park with magnificent, rare white rhinos which form part of the Big Five animals. There is also a possibility to see the pink flamingos. The game drive lasts 3 hours, after which you depart on a 3-hour drive back. Lunch will be on the way in a traveler's motel. You will be dropped to your hotel within Nairobi.

Location

Maasai Mara National Reserve

The Maasai Mara National Reserve (also spelled Maasai Mara and known by the locals as Mara) is a large game reserve in south-western Kenya which is effectively the northern continuation of the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. It is named after the Maasai people (the traditional inhabitants of the area) and their description of the area when looked at from afar, “Mara”, which is Maa (Maasai language) for "spotted". The word is also an apt description for the circles of trees, scrub, savanna, and cloud shadows that mark the area.

It is famous for its exceptional population of big cats, game, and the annual migration of zebra, Thomson’s gazelle, and wildebeest from the Serengeti every year from July to October. This migration is so immense and thus called the Great Migration.

Lake Nakuru National Park

Lake Nakuru National Park (188 square kilometers / 73 square miles) was created in 1961 around Lake Nakuru near the Nakuru Town. It is best known for its thousands, sometimes millions of pink flamingos nesting along the shores. The surface of the shallow lake is often hardly recognizable due to the continually shifting mass of pink flamingos. The number of pink flamingos on the lake varies with water and food conditions. The best vantage point is from the Baboon Cliff. Also of interest is an area of 188 kilometers (116 miles) around the lake that is fenced off as a sanctuary to protect Rothschild giraffes, black rhinos, and white rhinos.
