During this holiday, you will be staying in the following accommodations:
Nyumbani Hostel is situated 30 minutes' walk away from the city center. Although the hostel is close to the busy town it is surrounded by greenery and is on a quiet road. The hostel is run by Tanzanian - German couple that can organize extra trips for you to Mount Meru, Mount Kilimanjaro, and Zanzibar island after the retreat.
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) where Om & Flow Yoga will be waiting for you to transfer you to Arusha.
On top of the safari, the schedule also includes three day-trips around Arusha. The first day-trip will be to local coffee plantation on Mount Meru where you’ll be learning how coffee is grown and harvested. We will roast, grind and drink our own coffee. You will get an inside look into Meru culture and learn a lot of interesting facts about coffee.
The second day-trip will be to Maasai Village where you will be welcomed by local Maasai people. They will be showing you around, explaining about their traditions and ways of life. You will also go on a bush walk together with the Maasai people to learn about the different plants that the Maasai use as medicine. You will learn about local traditional dances, Maa-language and many other traditions.
The third day-trip will be to Chemka Hot Springs located on the way to Moshi. The hot springs are surrounded by stunning nature and the water is well tempered inviting visitors for a swim. If the sky is clear you will be able to take a glimpse of the majestic
Mount Kilimanjaro.
On the first day of safari, you’ll be visiting Tarangire National Park which is famous for it’s large herds of elephants and the majestic Baobab trees. If you’re lucky, you will also see your first lions. Before darkness, leave the park towards Lake Manyara campsite.
On second day of the safari, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park which is famous for its tree-climbing lions and the uncountable numbers of birds.
On this day, you will start driving towards the Serengeti National Park where you’ll arrive around lunchtime. You will pass the Ngorongoro Crater to enjoy the amazing view and take some pictures and have the full afternoon game drive in the Serengeti. Before darkness, leave the park towards the Seronera campsite.
On the fourth day of the safari, you will enjoy your last morning game drive in the Serengeti in search of wildlife. The word “Serengeti” is derived from the Maasai language Maa of the term “Siringitu” which means “the endless land” or “the endless level”.
Here you will experience this endlessness with your own eyes. After lunch, drive back toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where you’ll be staying overnight at the Simba Public Campsite.
On the last day of the safari, you’ll be visiting the Ngorongoro Crater where you have the chance to see one of the last rhinos in the world! You will leave the crater in the afternoon as per government policy and drive back to Arusha to reach your accommodation before darkness.
Today marks the last day of this safari and yoga holiday. You will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your departure.
Please note that the schedule during the safari may vary as game drives usually start at 6 or 7 a.m.
