Join this safari to discover the natural treasures of Kenya and Tanzania with Okoa Africa Tours! You will be accommodated in various campsites along the way as follows:
You will be picked up from your hotel at around 08.00 and drive southwards along the floor of the Great Rift Valley with a stopover at the viewpoint with picnic lunch on the way. You will be arriving at Maasai Mara in the afternoon. After that, you will proceed for an evening game drive, dinner, and overnight at Mara Sidai camp with facilities of hot shower and toilet inside the tent.
After breakfast, the day will be spent in search of elephant, zebra, wildebeest, rhino, buffalo, lion, cheetah, leopard, and other plains game. In the afternoon, you will have an optional nature walk or a visit to a nearby Maasai village. All meals and overnight will be at the camp.
You will enjoy a pre-morning game drive and after late breakfast, you will leave the camp for Nakuru with picnic lunch at Narok. You will arrive at Nakuru in the evening and if time permits, you will proceed for short game drive. Dinner and overnight at will be at a budget hotel or YWCA Guest House.
After early breakfast, you will have a morning game drive to Lake Nakuru National Park where you are going to see a lot of flamingoes and other birds. You will also have the chance to see the black and white rhino. After that, you will depart to Amboseli via Nairobi with picnic lunch on the way, arriving in the evening. If time permits, you can have a short game drive to see Mt. Kilimanjaro and big elephants. Dinner and overnight will be at Kimana Camp. There is a private bathroom but on the outside of the tent, not like in Maasai Mara which is inside the tent.
A pre-morning game drive will be the perfect time for photographing the humbling and magnificent Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa. It is also guaranteed that you will get to see the big elephants, giraffes, lions, etc. Dinner and overnight will be in the camp.
You will have an early breakfast then proceed for morning game drives, exit the park, and you will drive into Tanzania via the Namanga border. You will also pass through Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park with lunch en-route, arriving in the evening. If time permits, you will proceed for an evening game drive and the main attractions are its rich bird life, tree climbing lions, and its hippos, which you can see at a closer range than many other places. Dinner and overnight will be at the camp.
You will have morning game drives at Lake Manyara National Park, a shallow lake that also hosts thousands of flamingos at certain times of the year and has diverse vegetation ranging from savannah to marshes and acacia woodland, enabling a variety of wildlife habitats including butterflies. Later, you will proceed to Serengeti National Park, arriving in the evening with a game drive en-route to the campsite. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Seronera Camp.
After breakfast, with picnic lunch you will proceed for morning and afternoon game viewing in Serengeti. Every year, more than a million wildebeest, 200,000 zebras, and 300,000 Thomson's gazelles gather to undertake their long trek to new grazing lands, followed by predators: lion, leopard, cheetah, and hyenas. During their trek, more than 8,000 calves are produced a day and thousands are killed by predators. You will return to the camp for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, with picnic lunch you will proceed for morning game drive then leave Serengeti for Ngorongoro with an optional stop at Olduvai Gorge, a river canyon which cut a 100 meters deep through the volcanic soil of the Serengeti plains. Buried in the layers are hominids and remains of animals that lived and died more than two million years ago. The guides will give you on-site information of the gorge. You will proceed to Ngorongoro for dinner and overnight at the camp.
After breakfast, you will depart for the Ngorongoro Crater with your picnic lunch for a full day of trekking game in the crater floor. You will have a break for your picnic lunch at the Ngoitoktok Springs picnic site. All the Big Five may be seen. This huge caldera or collapsed volcano is 250 square kilometers and 600 meters deep. Its spectacular settings and abundance of wildlife make it one of the natural great wonders of the world. It is referred to as the eighth wonder of the world or the Eden of Africa. In the late afternoon, you will drive back to Arusha to and arrive in Arusha at 5pm drop at your hotel.
Morning after breakfast you will be pick and drop at the shuttle bus station and board shuttle to Nairobi and arrive in Nairobi at 3pm and drop you at the Jomo Kenyatta international airport end of 11 days safari.
