Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Pick up from the airport or hotel and drive to the southwest of Uganda via scenic countryside. Have a stopover at the equator point for photography, and have a chance to stand at 0 degrees latitude marginal line. Lunch is served along the way. You'll have enough stopovers for scenery viewpoints and local interactions where necessary. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking and community visit
Have an early breakfast, then drive for a very short distance to the briefing grounds Get entertained by the local women as they surely portray their skills while dancing with the local folks.
After you are briefed by the ranger guide about do's and don'ts, you are required to have good hiking shoes, pants, long-sleeved shirts or t-shirts, a rain jacket, enough drinking water, and a snack. The activity takes 2-8 hours depending on where the gorillas are located and you are given 1 viewing hour.
Explore the dense forests of Bwindi, feel the cold breath, and get entertained by the forest birds with a chance of encountering antelopes like the dykers. Once all this is done, get back to your lodge and briefly go for a community experience.
Day 3: Transfer to Kampala / Entebbe airport
Have an early breakfast and embark on your journey to Entebbe Airport or your hotel.
Note
This plan can also start from Rwanda to Uganda and return to Rwanda, or proceed to Entebbe airport. There’s also an option of starting and flying back from Rwanda. A local flight in Uganda to Kihihi also eases your distance to the gorillas. Let Numinous African Safaris know if you wish to make any changes to the trip.
