Amboseli National Park
The well-known Amboseli National park is famous for its large herds of free-ranging elephants. It is also one of the few Kenya Safari destinations that you can get closest to wild elephants. Besides the elephants you also get the opportunity to see Cape buffaloes, impala, lions, spotted hyenas, Masai giraffes, plain zebras and wildebeests among other African animals.
There is also a host of Kenyan birds, both large and small. Amboseli has an endless underground water supply filtered through thousands of feet of volcanic rock from Kilimanjaro’s ice cap, which funnels into two clear water springs in the heart of the park.
The highlight of this safari is the sight of the majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro that stands at 5895 meters. This gigantic volcano can best be viewed on a clear sky early in the morning or late in the afternoon.
