Join them for an incredible experience that is sure to provide memories to last a lifetime. Welcome to Tanzania!
Established 1894, this hotel is believed to be one of the oldest hotels in East Africa. Here, surrounded by the history of a bygone era, traditional ambiance is effortlessly combined with the style and service you want when traveling. The hotel features 106 stylish rooms, free Wi-Fi, a 24-hour gym, and four authentic restaurants and bars.
Overlooking the gardens, the Parachichi Restaurant, meaning ‘avocado’ in Swahili, is the perfect place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. A terrace overlooking the tropical garden invites to dine alfresco. Take a dip in the outdoor swimming pool and relax at Bustani Pool Bar.
Set alongside a dry riverbed peppered with huge granite boulders and well hidden amongst the acacia and baobab trees, Nimali Tarangire sits peacefully in its own private concession, adjacent to the eastern boundary of Tarangire National Park and, most importantly, away from the mainstream vehicles visiting the National Park.
No one else is allowed to drive within their own private concession and they use open vehicles for all of the game activities. They offer guided walks and night drives, as well as the option of sundowners whilst overlooking this beautiful, rather wild, area.
Tarangire National Park is lush and green, particularly in the early part of the year, and one of the most beautiful National Parks in Tanzania. Home to large herds of elephant, prolific birdlife, and plentiful year-round game, the wildlife spills into the Nimali concession and is often found just meters from the camp, around a large waterhole.
The concession eases the pressure for wildlife inside the park, preserves and protects the surrounding habitat, allows the local communities to derive meaningful and lasting benefits from the land, and ensures guests have a private and exceptional wildlife experience.
Nimali Tarangire is a stunning eight-room tented camp, designed with tranquility in mind. Guests are welcomed into a spacious, open-fronted lounge overlooking lovely views towards the swimming pool and a waterhole beyond. Natural materials set the tone for relaxation where natural fabrics, wood, canvas, and leather blend with a contemporary décor for a sense of elegance and comfort.
The dining area opens up to a traditional boma with a firepit and comfortable chairs, simply waiting for the night to draw in and the stories to begin.
This intimate camp consists of ten expedition-style tents of light, airy canvas on slightly raised decking, with beautiful views of the riverbed and dramatic boulders beneath. Each guest tent is large and stylishly furnished with a sense of exploration offering a large, leather strapped traveling chest, private deck, and en-suite facilities of flush loo, double vanity basin, and revitalizing rain shower.
The spacious decks are perfect for private dining and in-room spa treatments. Fans and open-sided walls (with mesh) allow the rooms to remain cool and comfortable during the heat of the day. Early mornings are a particularly special time when the riverbed is dappled with the first rays of sunshine and guests, savoring coffee whilst sitting on the deck, often see elephant enjoying a hearty breakfast on the opposite side of the bank.
Two of the tents are linked together and designed for families or couples traveling together. Connected by a large lounge overlooking a private deck and complete with plunge pool, these suites are a mix of contemporary and earthy furnishings, complete with fixed bathroom walls and wooden doors. Each tent is expansive with plenty of room for a writing desk and a reading corner.
Nimali Central Serengeti is set in the heart of the Serengeti plains in northern Tanzania, part of the Serengeti Mara ecosystem. Built close to Makoma Hill, this luxury tented camp is hidden away offering a sense of seclusion in this part of the National Park. With breathtaking views over the hills and plains and perfectly situated on the path of the renowned migratory route, it is a place where you can expect the unexpected.
Even when the migration is not passing through, the Makoma Hill area is well-known for its vast herds of buffaloes and elephants, giraffes, and of course many predators including lions, cheetahs, and hyenas. Numerous small hills and kopjes dot the landscape where lions are often found, warming themselves on the smooth surface of the rocks.
This charming and intimate tented camp has only eight rooms and has been designed for a truly authentic safari experience. Each tent evokes a richness and beauty and has been cleverly styled to combine modern furnishings with the feeling of adventure from a bygone era whilst ensuring minimal impact on the environment.
The lounge and dining tents are wide open to make the very most of the breathtaking views of the Serengeti plains, furnished to offer a cosy and relaxing area in which to look through your photographs or read a book.
Sundowners are sipped under the broad canopy of a large acacia tree with lanterns hanging from every branch and chairs surround an open fire where flames dance to the stories of the night. Here, guests are immersed in nature and have the unforgettable experience of being under canvas in the middle of this vast wilderness as the sun begins to slip over the horizon and the stars start to make their mark in the night sky.
The wide open, breathtaking views envelop this small and intimate safari camp, which overlooks the vast plains of the Serengeti National Park stretching for as far as the eye can see. With only eight tented suites, Nimali Central Serengeti is spread out across the base of a hill with a number of acacia trees providing a stunning backdrop to this immense wilderness.
Spacious and inviting, the rooms are furnished with a richness of colors, natural woods, and lush Persian carpets with large, comfortable beds, fixed wooden doors, and a private verandah. Each tent is expansive with plenty of room for a writing desk and a reading corner. The en-suite bathrooms have invigorating rain showers, vanity units with double basins and flush loo, fixed bathroom walls, and wooden doors. The wide verandahs are perfect for private dining and in-house spa treatments and the deep, colonial planter chairs provide an ideal setting to unwind and sip a chilled glass of wine as the sun slips below the horizon.
To keep cool, the tents have fans and open windows (with mesh) to allow the air to circulate freely during the heat of the day. Two of the tents can be converted into a family tent with an enclosed, connecting walkway that allows easy access between the tents while maintaining complete privacy.
Set in the more remote area of Kogatende, in the northern sector of the Serengeti National Park, Nimali Mara Camp will be a small, intimate safari camp with only 10 tents. Located about 30 minutes from the Mara River in a small kopje, the camp will fit naturally into its surroundings amongst the trees and boulders with an infinity pool set within a natural cave. The camp has been strategically located away from the hustle and bustle of safari vehicles whilst retaining easy access to the river and views of the amazing wildebeest migration crossings.
