Location

This retreat will be held at Taleni Etosha Village in Windhoek, Namibia.

Taleni Etosha village

Taleni Etosha Village is an award winning ecologically conscious establishment in the northern part of Namibia. Situated two kilometers from the Etosha National Park, the Taleni Etosha Village has three restaurant seating areas, a unique bar, 3 sparkling pools, and a curio shop.

Namibia

Namibia, nicknamed "the gem of Africa", got its name from the Namib desert; the oldest desert in the world and one of the highest sand dunes in the world. Namibia boasts remarkable natural attractions such as the Namib desert, the Etosha National Park, the Fish River Canyon Park, and the Kalahari desert. It’s majestic landscape and natural environment offers a unique flora and fauna population with an abundant variety of wildlife.

Bordering the Atlantic Ocean, Angola, Zambia, Botswana, and South Africa, it has something exciting to do for everyone. Whether you love animals, birds, nature, the ocean, the desert, or extreme sports, it has it all.

With a population of about two million people, Namibia has English as the official language, is one of the countries with the lowest population density in the world, and the largest single piece of meteor on earth. Formerly a colony of Germany, Namibia gained independence in 1991. You will find German colonial-era buildings in the capital, Windhoek, and the coastal resort Swakopmund. German is widely spoken and you will find delicious German cuisine in many shops and restaurants.

Swakopmund has a laid back feel to it with palm trees, good restaurants and gift shops. For the more adventurous, there are a variety of extreme sports, from skidding to quad biking, fat wheel biking, ocean safaris, dune boarding, and surfing.

Namibia’s greatest wildlife sanctuary, the Etosha National Park is situated in the northern part of the country. It has exceptional wildlife such as elephant, lion, cheetah, leopard, rhino, and giraffe to name a few. The country’s rich wildlife can be attributed to its commitment to conserving its natural resources and nurturing the cohabitation with wildlife including predators and large mammals.

In the south, you will find Sossusvlei, a major tourist attraction and undoubtedly Namibia’s most iconic landscape. The rust-red dunes, bleached white pans, and deep blue sky are instantly recognizable. The dunes are as high as 300 meters and have taken a million years to develop. Deadvlei, a white clay pan with dead camel thorn trees, and the dunes surrounding it is the pride of the Namib Desert.
