The retreat will take place at three different lodges:

Etosha Village - Etosha National Park

Etosha Village is a private and protected reserve directly adjacent to the Etosha National Park, near Okaukuejo. At Etosha Village, nature and luxury are in perfect harmony through design and comfort. Besides the 45 accommodation units and camping facilities, Etosha Village has three restaurant seating areas, a sparkling pool plus two smaller pools as well as a well-stocked utility , curio shop, and of course, the outdoor yoga deck! The individual luxurious units offer a spacious air-conditioned bedroom and a modern en-suite bathroom with shower. The patio and outside seating area create an ideal space to sit back, relax and enjoy the beauty that surrounds you. Etosha National Park is home to 114 species of mammals, 340 bird species, 110 reptile species, and 16 amphibian species, which make game viewing in Etosha a unique experience.

Okonjima - Home of the AfriCat Foundation

The family-run Okonjima Lodge rests at the foot of the sandstone Omboroko Mountains amidst Acacia thornveld in a Malaria-free area. It is halfway between Namibia’s capital city, Windhoek, and the Etosha National Park. Okonjima Nature Reserve is equally famed for frequent cheetah and leopard sightings on its safaris, as well as The AfriCat Foundation. Since being founded in 1991, AfriCat’s mission has been to make significant contributions to conservation, while trying to ensure the survival of Namibia’s predators in their natural habitat. It undertakes research, community support and environmental education projects, as well as conservation work to rehabilitate carnivores such as cheetah and hyaena.

GocheGanas Nature Reserve and Wellness Center

Situated a mere 29 kilometers southeast from Windhoek on a hilltop overlooking a spectacular landscape, Gocheganas is a luxury lodge offering a unique combination of wildlife, nature, and wellness experiences. With 25 different wildlife species located on a 6,000-hectare nature reserve, game drives and walking activities are welcomed as an enriching experience. The architecture and decor of all buildings at GocheGanas incorporates local arts and crafts in celebration of the culture of Namibia. Lisa and Marcel handpicked three remarkable lodges boasting their own wildlife and professional guides, designing a week for people who not only loves yoga, nature and animals, but wanting to bring harmony into their lives, living a more conscious ,purposeful and loving life. Lisa's classes will connect you to your inner self, teaching awareness and mindful movement through Hatha, Vinyasa and Restorative sessions, tailored to the personal needs of each guest. The retreat takes a maximum of 8 guests for the perfect group experience, welcoming beginners to advanced.

Each day is set to begin with a morning yoga practice out in nature as the world awakes around you. The remainder of the mornings, after breakfast, will be spent on an excursion specific to the area. On return from the activity, lunch will be served and then some time to relax and enjoy the 'holiday' part of this adventure or head off for another guided activity as offered by the lodges. As the days draw to a close, you will find yourself back in nature for an afternoon yoga practice, quieting your mind before dinner under the Namibian starlit skies.

Day 1: December 12

On arrival at Windhoek International Airport, you will be met and the journey to Okonjima Nature Reserve will begin. If you arrived a day or so before, they will pick you up at your B&B.

From Windhoek it’s a 2-hour drive, the perfect time for an introduction to what the week has in store for you while enjoying majestic landscapes and the unique environment of flora and fauna. 

After lunch and settling into your accommodation, you will meet for a restorative sunset yoga session followed by a mouth-watering dinner under the African sky.

Days 2-4: December 13-15

Lodging: Etosha Village

Accommodation: Twin rooms

Includes: All meals

Activities: Yoga, meditation, two guided game drives to Etosha National Park, one sundowner drive with snacks and beverages, one live African music night at nearby lodge

Optional activities: Stargazing (weather permitting), guided nature trails, birding

Day 2

Waking up to a beautiful day in Africa, you will start the day with a sunrise yoga session, then participate in one of the above activities. Okonjima’s activities delight and educate even the most experienced of travellers. Mornings begin early with tracking cheetahs on foot in the Okonjima Nature Reserve alongside their experienced guides.

You will head to your next location, Etosha National Park where you will be staying at Etosha Village for the next three nights. The drive takes about 2.5 hours, arriving around lunch time.

Etosha Village is a prime destination for nature lovers combined with excellent service and cuisine! The lodge uniquely delivers the perfect safari style experience in a private and protected reserve directly adjacent to the Etosha National Park, near Okaukuejo on the Southern side.

Relax by the pools after lunch or join a guided nature walk before a yoga session out in nature on an open-air yoga deck. Dinner will be buffet style under the African stars. Get a good night’s sleep as tomorrow calls for an early start for a game drive to Etosha National Park.

Day 3

After a healthy breakfast, you will meet with an experienced guide that will take you to Etosha National Park. It is home to hundreds of species of mammals, birds and reptiles, including several threatened and endangered species such as the black rhinoceros, elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, wildebeest, giraffe, hyena, zebra, springbok, kudu, gemsbok, and eland are common in the park which make game viewing in Etosha a unique experience.

Returning to Etosha Village for lunch, relax for the rest of the day, before meeting for an early afternoon yoga session. The yoga sessions will be longer due to not having yoga this morning. Embrace yourself for a late afternoon sunset drive to experience breathtaking views of the Mopane Forests.

Day 4

After a calming yoga practice, followed by breakfast, we will head to Etosha National Park. Relax at a nearby lodge for lunch, before heading back to Etosha Village for yet another mindful yoga session in nature. After dinner, you will head to the neighboring lodge for some African music.

Days 5 and 6

Lodging: Gocheganas

Accommodation: Twin rooms

Includes: All meals

Activities: Yoga, meditation, one full body massage

Optional activities: Guided nature trails, game drives, spa treatments

Day 5

After yoga, you will have breakfast and make your way to Gocheganas Private Nature Reserve where you will be treating yourselves at the spa for the next two days. The drive is about 5 hours and you should arrive around lunch time.

After lunch, enjoy a much needed massage and If needed, spend some more time at the spa or go on an optional afternoon game drive.

Day 6

You will have another sunrise yoga overlooking the stunning scenery that Gocheganas offers. The rest of the day you can either relax at the pool or go on an optional activity. Admire 25 different large game species roaming the 6,000-hectare nature reserve, including rhino, bat-eared fox, giraffe, mountain- and plains zebra, cheetah, jackal and leopard, blue- and black wildebeest, eland, oryx, red hartebeest, kudu, springbok, waterbuck, steenbok, duiker, klipspringer, ostrich and warthog. A fascinating variety of birds are spread over the reserve and can be spotted at the Wellness Village, as well as at the surrounding water places.

Enjoy your last dinner surrounded by the sounds and beauty of nature.

Day 7

Your last sunrise yoga session. Depending on flight departure times, you can either relax at Gocheganas after breakfast or go curio shopping in Windhoek. Not only will it be a memorable drive back to the airport, but an unforgettable trip.

Breakfast buffet

Breakfast will consist of extensive selections of fresh fruits, yogurts, cereals, freshly baked bread, eggs, and smoothies.


Lunch will mostly be an a la carte menu with endless mouth-watering dishes to choose from.

Dinner buffet-style

Dinner will consist of exquisite choices of salads, vegetable dishes, freshly baked breads, and a variety of grilled meats and stir-fries followed by decadent desserts and a variety of cheeses and biscuits.
