Enjoy the best of Namibia safari where you will explore the jewels of Namibia, including Caprivi area and other wonderful national parks. On this retreat, you will enjoy the safari experience in most of national parks and rivers in this part of Namibia. Every day will be a special treat for you since you will be in close proximity to a number of Southern Africa’s safari must-sees.
During this retreat, you will reside for two days at Safari Court Hotel, Kazile Island Lodge, Nkasa Lupala Lodge, and Camp Chobe Tented Lodge and one night at Mahangu Safari Lodge.
You will be picked up from international airport to the city by a representative from Nali Safaris. You will be dropped off in your overnight accommodation. After settling down at the hotel, the tour guide will pick you for a Windhoek City tour and then the rest of the afternoon will be at leisure. Dinner will be pre-booked at a restaurant in the city.
Today, you have an early start. You are transferred to Eros Airport (ERS) for the flight to Kavango Region in the town of Rundu. You are picked from the airport to get to the accommodation. In the late afternoon, you visit the Mahango Game Park to a place somewhere “off the beaten track” with a true wilderness sensation.
You will have an early start today, heading east further in Caprivi area. En-route, you visit Bwabwata National Park, expecting to see elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, and wild dog and the river side, expecting to see hippo, crocodile, warthog, baboon, and vervet monkey. The large herds of elephant are migrants, moving between Angola and the Okavango Delta. Then, you will join the afternoon game boat cruise on Kwando River.
Today, you will depart on a boat cruise early morning enjoying the sun rays reflected off the water’s edge and the soothing sound of the water as it is gently broken by the bow of the boat cutting through the water’s surface. Around every corner, you can see a new bird, antelope, or a carnivore quenching its thirst. A sudden fountain of water followed by a deep grunt reveals the large pod of hippos curiously gazing upon your arrival. The boat comes to a halt.
You will enjoy a guided game drive. As midday sun retreats and the afternoon shadows lengthen, you depart on a journey, an adventure to discover the unknown behind every bend. You will observe every branch for a rare endemic bird, to be rewarded instead by an elusive leopard. You will also hear the silence broken by the deep low rumble vibrating through the bush, which could only belong to a large herd of elephants.
You will have an early morning game drive today before you depart south of Caprivi Strip to Nkasa Rupara National Park, which is wild. Perhaps, that is why it is seldom visited. This adventurous watery wonderland of wildlife rich islands, river channels, and wetlands mirrors Botswana's Okavango Delta.
Nkasa Rupara National Park holds the distinction of being the largest wetland area with conservation status in Namibia. In turn, it protects flora and fauna living within a complex channel of reed beds, lakes, and islands which form the Linyanti swamps. One of the lodge's main draw cards is that a large population of the park's wildlife roam freely around the unfenced lodge surroundings through the floodplain, savannah, and woodland habitat.
Camp Chobe Tented Lodge is situated north east of Ngoma border post on the banks of the Chobe River overlooking the Chobe National Park. The camp offers 12 chalets and a campsite. You can observe elephant, buffalo, red lechwe, zebra, roan, and many other animals on Chobe River boat cruises and game drives.
Aptly and fondly known as ‘the land of the giants’, Chobe National Park in the north of the beautiful Botswana is home to Africa’s largest elephant population and comprises more than 10,000 square kilometers of rich ecosystems, diverse landscapes, and an almost unparalleled abundance of wildlife and birdlife all centered around the stunning Chobe River and in close proximity to a number of Southern Africa’s other safari must-sees.
After a leisurely breakfast, you drive to the town of Caprivi Strip in Katima Mulilo for souvenir shopping before you are transferred to Katima Mulilo Airport (MPA) for your afternoon flight back to Windhoek at Eros Airport (ERS).
Depending on your time of departure for your outbound flight, you will be transferred to Windhoek Hosea Kutako International Airport (WDH) for your flight back home.
You will enjoy boat cruises on Kwando River, Bwabwata National Park, and Chobe River.
This safari will take place in Windhoek and Caprivi Strip area. You will explore Mahango Game Park, Bwabwata National Park, Caprivi Strip, and Nkasa Lupala National Park and be taken to Kwando River and Chobe River to enjoy boat cruise.
