Come and experience the best of Caprivi Strip with the abundance of wildlife on wetlands of Namibia. Mahango Game Park, Bwabwata National Park, Nkasa Lupala National Park, and Chobe National Park will be visited during this safari. You will have boat cruises on Kwando River and Chobe River where you can observe the animals along the river. This exceptional tour in Namibia and Botswana will definitely satisfy your thirst for wildlife.
You will be accommodated at Safari Court Hotel for the first night, Mahango Safari Lodge for the second night, Kazile Island Lodge for the third and fourth night, Nkasa Lupala Lodge for the fifth and sixth night, Camp Chobe Tented Lodge or similar for the seventh and eighth night, and back to Safari Court Hotel for the last night.
You will be picked up from the international airport to the city by a representative from Nali Safaris. You will be dropped off at your overnight accommodation. After settling down at the hotel, the tour guide will pick you for a Windhoek city tour and then the rest of the afternoon will be at leisure. Dinner will be pre-booked at a restaurant in the city.
Today, you have an early start. You are transferred to Eros Airport (ERS) for your flight to Kavango region in the town of Rundu. You are picked from the airport to get to your accommodation. In the late afternoon, you visit the Mahango Game Park to a place somewhere “off the beaten track” with a true wilderness sensation.
Have an early start today, heading east further in Caprivi area. En-route, you visit Bwabwata National Park. Expect to see elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, wild dogs, and at the river side, expect to see hippos, crocodiles, warthogs, baboons, and vervet monkeys. The large herds of elephants are migrants, moving between Angola and the Okavango Delta. Join the afternoon game boat cruise on Kwando River.
Today, you will depart on a boat cruise in the early morning. Sun rays reflect off the water’s edge and the soothing sound of the water as it is gently broken by the bow of the boat cutting through the water’s surface. Around every corner, new birds, antelopes or carnivores quench the thirst. A sudden fountain of water followed by a deep grunt reveals the large pod of hippos curiously gazing upon your arrival. The boat comes to a halt.
Go for a guided game drive as midday sun retreats and the afternoon shadows lengthen. You depart on a journey, an adventure to discover the unknown behind every bend, observing every branch for a rare endemic bird, to be rewarded instead by an elusive leopard. The silence broken by the deep low rumble is vibrating through the bush, which could only belong to a large herd of elephants.
Go for an early morning game drive today before you depart south of Caprivi Strip to Nkasa Lupala National Park which is wild. Perhaps that is why it is seldom visited. This adventurous watery wonderland of wildlife rich islands, river channels, and wetlands, mirrors Botswana's Okavango Delta.
Nkasa Lupala National Park holds the distinction of being the largest wetland area with conservation status in Namibia. In turn, it protects flora and fauna living within a complex channel of reed beds, lakes, and islands, which form the Linyanti swamps. One of the lodge's main draw cards is that a large population of the park's wildlife roam freely around the unfenced lodge surroundings through the floodplain, savannah, and woodland habitat.
Camp Chobe is situated north east of Ngoma border post on the banks of the Chobe River overlooking the Chobe National Park. The Camp offers 12 chalets and a campsite. Visitors can observe elephants, buffalos, red lechwes, zebras, roans, and many other animals on Chobe River boat cruises and game drives.
Aptly and fondly known as ‘The Land of The Giants’, Chobe National Park in the north of beautiful Botswana is home to Africa’s largest elephant population and comprises more than 10,000 kilometer square of rich ecosystems, diverse landscapes, and an almost unparalleled abundance of wildlife and birdlife all centered around the stunning Chobe River, and in close proximity to a number of Southern Africa’s other safari must-sees.
After a leisurely breakfast, you drive to the town of Caprivi Strip in Katima Mulilo for souvenir shopping before you are transferred to Katima Mulilo Airport (MPA) for your afternoon flight back to Windhoek at Eros Airport (ERS).
Depending on your time of departure for your outbound flight, you will be transferred to Windhoek’s Hosea Kutako International Airport (WDH) for your flight back home.
You will have a Windhoek city tour on the first day of this tour.
