Accommodation

You will be staying at various accommodations in comfortable twin sharing rooms. While visiting Hoolongapar Gibbon Wildlife Sanctuary, you will stay at Gibbon Resorts, at Agoratoli Resort or Lokossa Guest House in Kaziranga, at Maibong Eco Resort in Pobitora, and at Florican Cottage when visiting the Manas National Park.

Program

During this thrilling safari you can spot elephants, rhinos, tigers, swamp deers, hog deers, wild buffaloes, hoolock gibbons, capped langurs, Assam macaques, stump-tailed macaques, Malayan giant squirrels, red-headed trogons, great hornbills, oriental pied hornbills, Bengal floricans, Gangetic river dolphins, and many more species of birds and animals.

You will also enjoy adventure and cultural activities like a cultural program in Pobitora, village walks through quaint villages in Mayong, river rafting on river Manas (water level permitting), forest walk in Gibbon Wildlife Sanctuary, and a cruise along the Brahmaputra.

Day 1: Arrival

Representatives of My Wild India will pick you up from the Jorhat Airport (JRH) and transfer you to your resort near Hoolongapar Gibbon Wildlife Sanctuary. It takes approximately an hour and a half to reach the venue. Your overnight stay will be at Gibbon Resorts.

Day 2: Hoolongapar Gibbon Wildlife Sanctuary

Today you will go on an on foot safari in the jungle of Hoolongapar Gibbon Wildlife Sanctuary, in search of Hoolock gibbons, rare species of macaques, birds, etc. This is an excellent place for a macro photography tour. Overnight stay will be at Gibbon Resorts.

Day 3: Kaziranga National Park

After breakfast you will proceed towards Kaziranga National Park. It takes approximately a three hours’ drive to reach there, depending on traffic conditions. Overnight stay will be at Agoratoli Resort or Lokossa Guest House.

Day 4 and 5: Jeep Safari in Kaziranga National Park

Today you will enjoy a morning and afternoon open jeep safari inside the national park. Overnight stay will be at Agoratoli Resort or Lokossa Guest House. The same routine will follow for next day as well.

Day 6: Boat safari on river Brahmaputra

On this day you will enjoy a morning boat safari along the periphery of Kaziranga on the river Brahmaputra. Overnight stay will be at Agoratoli Resort or Lokossa Guest House.

Day 7: Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary

You will drive towards your next destination, the Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary, after breakfast. It takes approximately a five hours drive to reach there, depending on traffic conditions. Overnight stay will be at Maibong Eco Resort.

Day 8: Boat cruise on river Brahmaputra

Enjoy a morning boat cruise on the mighty river Brahmaputra, today. In the evening you will enjoy a cultural program and barbecue. Overnight stay will be at Maibong Eco Resort.

Day 9: Village walk and safari

On this day you will go for village walk in the morning and enjoy an afternoon open jeep safari inside the sanctuary. Overnight stay will be at Maibong Eco Resort.

Day 10: Manas National Park

Post breakfast you will leave for your next destination, the Manas National Park. It takes approximately a five and a half hours drive to reach there, depending on traffic conditions. Overnight stay will be at Florican Cottage.

Day 11: Full day safari in Manas National Park

You will enjoy a full day open jeep safari inside the national park, today. Overnight stay will be at Florican Cottage.

Day 12: River rafting on river Manas

Today you will enjoy a morning river rafting session on river Manas and in the afternoon you will go for an open jeep safari inside the park. In the event there is no river rafting due to low water level, a full day safari will be conducted. Overnight stay will be at Florican Cottage.

Day 13: Departure

This day marks the end of your safari tour and after breakfast, you will be dropped at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (GAU), for your onward journey.

Location

This exciting safari will take you across famous national parks across the state of Assam, India.

Hoolongapar Gibbon Wildlife Sanctuary

This sanctuary has game trails that are on a level ground passing through dense evergreen forests. The main attractions include the Western Hoolock gibbon, who are generally heard first and spotted later because of their resounding call. You can also spot capped langur, pigtailed macaque, elephants, red-headed trogons, Tokay geckos, Burmese rock python etc. The ideal time to visit the sanctuary is from November to April.

Kaziranga National Park

This park is a UNESCO Natural Heritage Site. The safaris are conducted in three zones, Agoratoli, Kohora, and Bagori. The landscape is a mixture of vast grasslands, deciduous forests, and swampy lands. The park adjoins the Brahmaputra River, across which the eastern Himalayas can be seen on a clear day.

You are not allowed to disembark from your vehicle unless you are in designated areas. Boat safaris are conducted along the periphery of the national park on the Brahmaputra. You may spot Indian rhinoceros, Asiatic elephant, tiger, wild buffalo, swamp deer, hog deer, grey-headed fish eagle, Palas's fish eagle, various species of parakeets, and owls etc. Migratory birds arrive between mid-November and depart in the first week of March. The ideal time to visit the park is from November to April.

Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary

Pobitora is home to the highest population of wild rhinos in the world. The park is a mixture of grasslands, patches of woodlands, and water bodies. Very close animal sightings are quite common in the sanctuary. You can spot the Indian rhinoceros, wild buffaloes, wild boar, Gangetic river dolphins, and various species of birds. Chances of sighting a river dolphin during the river cruise are highest in the month of November due to the high water level. The ideal time to visit the sanctuary is from November to May.

Food

You will be served daily delicious breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks, during your stay. Tea will be served twice daily and also packaged mineral water (two liters per person), will be offered.
