"We had a wonderful time at the beautiful lodge of Wendy and Steve this October! Steves enthousiasm for wildlife and its preservation mixed with his love for the local traditions and people opened our eyes on how the Zimbabwe businessmen can make a huge difference. His openness on how it all fits together combined with his willingness to make it an unforgettable time for the tourists coming out to Kariba taught us more on these 3 days than what we got out of all previous encounters! The hippos in front of our lovely lodge, the visit of the local village and school, the huge crocodiles on the borders of the lake, the fish-eagles at sunset and perfect meals with lively conversation to finish the day. We definitely want more of this! Many thanks, great hippo-survivor!"

"Visited in May 2015. The place is tugged away on an island on Lake Kariba, so far away from the mainland. Everything about the place and activities was great. The fishing village close-by is a must take trip to go, learn and hear fisherman's stories on Lake Kariba; their encounters with hippos, crocodiles etc. Stayed in a room overlooking the lake and we loved the daily morning visits by the hippopotamuses. "A slice of heaven and tonic for the soul! From the warm welcome, to the so comfortable lodges with delightful touches like the pot plants in the bathroom, looking up at the stars from the shower and the birdbath outside the room, to game viewing from the pontoon, the fiery Kariba sunsets and the peace and stunning beauty that was all around - just perfection. A true escape from the hustle and bustle of every day life with a real family 'feel' to it - Steve and Wendy you are amazing hosts. Will be back! "
