DAY 1: ZAMBEZI RIVER

Sanctuary Sussi and Chuma is just a short drive from Livingstone Airport (LVI) and a step away from the world-famous Victoria Falls. The lodge itself is an exclusive haven in the heart of Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park.

In addition to the mighty roar of the Victoria Falls, it also boasts a wide variety of game as well as countless opportunities for adventure. Built on two levels on a dramatic bend in the Zambezi, the main lodge is perched in giant ebony trees. Guests can relax in the swimming pool, or enjoy a drink in the elevated bar.

The twelve air-conditioned tree houses are connected by wooden walkways and all enjoy superb views over the river. In addition, there are two private houses available. Each has two bedrooms, a dining area and deck with plunge pools, as well as a private chef and house staff.

DAY 2: VICTORIA FALLS

The day is at leisure to enjoy some of the many activities on offer. These include a tour of the falls, sundowner cruise on the Zambezi, walking safaris, game drives in the national park, and a village tour. Livingstone is also known as the adventure capital of Africa, offering a variety of adrenalin activities.

Imagine taking on the mighty Zambezi River on a white water rafting trip. Did you know the rapids on the Zambezi are officially defined as grade five? The Flight of Angels offers an amazing opportunity to experience a flight in a helicopter and an unrivaled and superior view of the majestic Victoria Falls.

Other adventure activities include bungee jumping, micro lighting over the Victoria Falls, and swimming at the Devil’s Pool. These activities are an optional extra and can be booked at the lodge.

DAY 3: ZAMBEZI / VICTORIA FALLS

Awake to the sounds of the bush as a steaming hot cup of tea or coffee is served on your tent’s deck. This morning, you may like to sleep in and enjoy your surroundings or explore the park on an early morning game drive or river cruise before returning to camp for a refreshing drink and breakfast on the edge of the river.

This afternoon, you have time to take a refreshing swim in the pool or relax on your private deck with a cool drink and gaze out across the Zambezi and watch as the game lazily congregates in the shade. Elephants may even take a bath in the river right in front of your treehouse to escape the heat. You could opt to explore the region and tick off some more activities.

DAY 4: SANCTUARY SUSSI and CHUMA

The morning is at leisure to enjoy the activities on offer and afterwards, please meet the lodge representative in the reception area of the lodge for your transfer to Livingstone Airport (LVI) or on to your next destination. Your transfer times will be advised to you by the lodge managers.

It’s a short hop, skip, and a jump from Victoria Falls to some of the best safari experiences in Africa. From the remote South Luangwa National Park in Zambia to Chobe National Park and the mind-boggling Okavango Delta in Botswana, you can extend this safari into a truly once in a lifetime experience.

Two daily shared game viewing activities. These include a tour of Victoria Falls on the Zambian side, game drives in the National Park, sundowner cruise, local school and village tour, walking safari, fishing and canoeing excursions.

This safari and tour will take place in Zambia and Tanzania. Zambia, officially the Republic of Zambia, is a landlocked country in Southern Africa, neighbouring the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the north, Tanzania to the north-east, Malawi to the east, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Namibia to the south, and Angola to the west.

This is a great country to go on safari. Victoria Falls is not the only attraction there with some fantastic remote national parks less frequented by the first time safari traveler. There you can find peace and quiet away from the crowds, animals also seem to enjoy the tranquility in these areas, roaming freely in the remote savannah.

The Zambezi falls about 100 meters over the 1.6 kilometers wide Victoria Falls, located in the south-west corner of the country, subsequently flowing into Lake Kariba. The Zambezi Valley, running along the southern border, is both deep and wide. From Lake Kariba going east.

Victoria Falls, Livingstone, and Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park

David Livingstone was the first European to see the falls and named them in honor of Queen Victoria in 1857. The falls make a constant roar and are accompanied by a cloud of brilliant spray where the 1.7 kilometers wide. Upper Zambezi drops between 90 and 107 meters into the lower Zambezi.

The spray from the falls typically rises to a height of over 400 meters, sometimes even twice as high, and is visible from up to 50 kilometers away, hence the local name for the falls and the surrounding national park, Mosi-Oa-Tunya, “The Smoke That Thunders."

The park provides a home for numerous antelope species, zebra, giraffe, elephant, warthog, and a variety of birds. Since there are no predators, the wildlife is very relaxed, allowing for excellent photo opportunities.

Built on two levels, the main lodge consists of an elevated bar, superb wine cellar, lounge, open-air dining area, curio shop, and a swimming pool. Full English and continental breakfast is served and high tea is available on request. The elegant shaded deck offers fantastic bird’s eye views across the river. And when all the excitement of the day has caught up, a revitalizing spa treatment is the order of the day.

African Potato Anti-Ageing Body Experience (1 hr 20 mins)

This body experience eliminates toxins and refreshes lifeless skin. A warm African potato and Marula wrap is applied to restore hydration and fight free-radicals, after which your whole body is massaged using varying pressure and natural skin serum to retain moisture.

A welcoming African ritual begins this wonderfully comforting treatment. Once the body is sloughed this Africology vitamin and mineral enriched mud wrap sets on the body to stimulate lymph and toxin elimination, whilst assists with boosting your immune system.

Africology products which especially nourish the nails and the skin leaving them repaired and restored. Great for men and women as relaxing hand treatment or add a nail polish for perfect grooming.

Africology & Copper Pedicure (1 hr)

A luxurious African pedicure using Africology products to soak and wrap the feet. Energy is balanced in a copper foot bath to help reduce water retention. The feet and legs are massaged increasing circulation and aiding relaxation.

Africology Balancing Scalp & Foot Massage (30 mins)

A traditionally relaxing and healing massage working on reflexology points of the feet to restore balance with pressures on the scalp sending you into a sedative state of relaxation.

Working in concert to clear clogged pores, and encourage the production of Elastin to refine and retexture uneven skin. By not stripping the skin of excessive oil we treat it to allow time for the skin to balance itself naturally making this facial safe for the most sensitive skin.

• Treatments may be booked at the Treatment Room Reception, with the Lodge Manager or with the Therapist.
• A full consultation will be held before every treatment.
• Guests are requested to arrive 15 minutes prior to their appointment.
• Late arrivals may have their treatment time reduced if the spa is busy.
• Bookings carry a 6-hour advance cancellation policy after which 50% will be charged.
