The mud cottage made of mud and the treetop cottage which has a deck perched on a tree. The rooms have a good view of the greenish forest and the mountains. The resort has a restaurant where homely food served. It is all prepared fresh with vegetables grown within the estate of the resort itself. Self kitchen also available in every villas.
You have to trek to reach this cave. A lot of birds named swiftlet are found here. One of the must seen places in Munnar. Rare spices of Swiftlet birds are stayed there in thousands. This cave is been from the origin of Earth.
You will set off into the forest. There are ten hidden caves in this area and there is no legend associated with these caves. This is a naturally formed cave system. These caves are set amidst dense evergreen forests of the Western Ghats and cascading waterfalls. There were two caves near the base camp. After crossing two caves, you'll have to cross a small stream coming from cascading waterfalls. The water is chilling but at the same time refreshing.
Descending from the cave is a little tricky. You have to go down through a narrow hole, only one person can crawl at a time. Walking and bending and even crawling at certain places through the pathways, tires you out. But this is a great experience if you are looking for some adventure and thrill.
One you reach the base camp, you will to stroll around the Mankulam village. Mankulam is a very scenic small village. There are some resorts for accommodation. Reach back to the base camp and have a bath in the pool under the waterfalls to wiped out the day's tiredness.
After a heavy dinner and chit chatting, it's time for campfire and tent setting. You can sleep at the base camp or above the rock structure. This area can accommodate around 10 tents at a time. The sound of the waterfall that is constant music to the ears and cool breeze that started blowing will lull you into deep sleep.
Surrounded by mountains, tea gardens, and milky waterfalls (total of eight waterfalls nearby), the caves of Munnar is a great setting of nature with all its bounties. A perfect hideout for people who want to relax in a peaceful environment without any disturbance, enjoying the beauty of pristine nature, relaxing near the pool, and hearing the sounds of crickets and the gurgling waterfall which can be viewed from the resort.
You will be visiting a total of five caves, some have small bats or so many birds, also some old letters. Puranic tantras, mantras, and ambiance are also close with nature. Guests can trek down to the waterfall nearby and enjoy the tea estates and the nature around or choose to take a jeep safari (1947 model old willy’s jeep) which would take them into the wilderness where they can see numerous waterfalls, flowing rivers, a fish pond, hanging bridges etc. You can also choose to travel to Munnar for sightseeing.
