Monte Amazonico Lodge

Both Monte Amazonico Lodge Tambopata and Monte Amazonico Lodge Sandoval Lake are located on the margin of the Tambopata River, 150 kilometers (9.31 miles) northeast of the city of Puerto Maldonado within the Tambopata National Reserve. The facilities of the lodge were built with environmentally friendly criteria and always complying with safety standards, a key aspect of the management.

The lodge has the traditional and rustic design of the houses of the Madre de Dios River by the skillful masters of the community of palmareal.

The lodge is a complex of 18 buildings: 15 of them for the rooms, the lobby / bar, the dining room, the kitchen, the pool area, and other common areas. The lodge's infrastructure is entirely built using wood from the region, as are the floors in the common areas and rooms are made of wood and the bathrooms are majolica.

The 30 rooms, restaurant, lobby, bar and bungalow of hammocks are completely protected by meshes (they avoid the entry of mosquitoes). The individual rooms are spacious and very comfortable and the walls that divide each room are built using native wood, and have ceilings giving privacy to each of them.

The 15 rooms including simple, double, matrimonial, and family rooms have the shape of bungalows, the side facing the forest or gardens has terraces (where hammocks are located) or two large windows on each side, keeping them always ventilated.

All the rooms have a private bathroom and water in the showers which is supplied by the Madre de Dios River previously chlorinated and crystallized. The rooms are not sound proof.
