This safari experience is designed to suit your schedule, dreams, and budget precisely! Enjoy sunset or night, early morning, and late afternoon game drives in the famous Kruger National Park which is home to the big five. You'll also take a few hours of panoramic eye candy, seeing the Blyde River Canyon which is the third deepest canyon in the world after the Grand Canyon in western United States and Namibia’s Fish Eagle Canyon. Blyde ranks among the most spectacular panoramic sights in South Africa.
You will be accommodated in huts, at Pretoriuskop Restcamp, in Kruger National Park.
You will be picked up from O.R Tambo International Airport (JNB) in the morning and drive to your camp situated in Kruger National Park. You will be welcomed by the park ranger who will take you on a sunset / night game drive. Dinner will be served under the African night skies.
You will leave the camp really early in the morning and join your experienced and qualified guide to enjoy at least eight to ten hours of game viewing in the open safari game viewing vehicle. Kruger is home to 147 mammals (including the big five), 114 reptiles, and 502 bird species.
You will take breaks at the various camps and picnic spots along the way in order to stretch your legs and grab a bite to eat. After an exciting eight hours of game viewing, African Bushveld, and education, you drive to your camp to enjoy dinner at the camp’s restaurant.
After breakfast, you will be taken to visit the third deepest canyon in the world, Blyde River Canyon. It’s an easy, relaxing day trip from Kruger National Park, highlighted with fascinating and informative details offered by your experienced native guides. This vast escarpment is the sort of place where brochures and guidebooks are bereft of expressive adjectives to describe the unsullied mountain scenery and magnificent panoramic views.
Viewpoints overhang cliffs that rise 600 - 800 meters from the riverbed. The canyon extends over twenty kilometers, and you’ll stop at many breathtaking viewing points. Short walks are scheduled along precipices and longer hikes, if you’re up for it, wind through mountain rain forests teaming with exotic birds, rare flowering shrubs, and showering waterfalls.
Stops and hikes at God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, the Pinnacle, Lisbon Falls, the Three Rondavels, and other spectacular viewing points are scheduled depending on time constraints. After your last panoramic stop, you then make your way back to Johannesburg to arrive at your lodge or airport in the late evening.
Netto Maluka is a safari guide for Mbombela Experience Tours & Transfers.
Shadrack will be one of your guides during the safari.
During your stay, you will be provided with dinner on the first day, breakfast and dinner on the second day, and breakfast on the third day. Bottled water will also be provided.
