Accommodation

During the safari, you can stay at Mara Sopa Lodge, Serena Lodge, or Sarova Lodge. Based on availability, Mara And Serengeti Expeditions uses Serenas, Sopas, Sarovas, and several other lodges of similar standards. The below mentioned are just but a few among the many lodges that they use both in Kenya and Tanzania.

Sopa Lodge

This stunning collection of eight individually designed lodges is renowned for incredible views, luxurious rooms, and warm African hospitality. Designed to blend into local landscapes and reflect local cultures, each lodge is unique and offers a range of facilities to help you relax, unwind and enjoy great food no matter which Sopa Lodge you are staying in.

Standard features you can expect at every Sopa include a restaurant and bar, an outdoor dining option, a swimming pool, bird watching, nature walks, a gift shop, local entertainment, and a laundry service. Every beautifully appointed guest room includes an evening turn-down service, hairdryer, telephone and mosquito nets.

Maasai Mara Sopa Lodge was one of the first lodges to be built within the reserve. The grounds house a variety of mature African trees; their shade offering respite from the sun. The buildings are traditional roundhouse-style, blending wonderfully into the iconic Mara landscape. This lodge offers plenty of options to unwind including a swimming pool, handicraft market along with options for balloon safaris and scenic flights.

Serena Lodge

Mara Serena Safari Lodge has been designed to make the most of the striking views across the savannah and the hippo-filled Mara River. These wonderful vistas can be enjoyed from rooms, the bar and dining area as well as the outdoor pool. You can choose from a range of treatments to pamper yourself with at the spa, with other facilities including a gym, library, gift shop, and business center.

Sarova Lodge

Located within the boundaries of Maasai Mara National Reserve, this property offers guests a luxury glamping experience deep in the African wilderness. You’ll stay in luxury en-suite tented accommodation, enjoy fabulous dining, and can indulge in spa treatments. Guests can engage in a range of activities such as bird watching and a cultural experience in the adjoining Maasai village.

A full day of game viewing awaits you after an optional hot air balloon flight over the Mara at a cost of 450 USD per person. Mara And Serengeti Expeditions Ltd highly recommends this flight, what you see from up there is worth the money and they advise to book it during the booking of your trip to avoid disappointment when you get at the Mara, as space is rarely available due to too many bookings during the migration season. You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch at a hippo pool in the bush and afterward, you’ll have the option of continuing with your safari, and to crown it, an option of visiting a traditional Maasai village where these traditional people will showcase their rich culture at a cost of 20 USD per person. After checking out, you’ll be driven back to Nairobi where your Maasai Mara expedition concludes.
