This trip brings you the highlights of Western Uganda, where the savannah meets the rainforest. This is the home of many iconic African animals, including lions, elephants, buffalos, giraffes, hippos, spotted hyenas and leopards, and up to 15 primate species, including the mighty gentle giants, the mountain gorillas, and chimps. This tour is designed for solo travelers, families, and groups for all levels.
During this safari, you will stay at Chimpanzee Guest House for 2 nights and at Simba Safari Lodge for 1 night.
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport (EBB), you will be met and warmly received by your driver guide and drive to Kibale Forest through the scenic beautiful views between Kampala & Fort Portal without missing the scenic beautiful tea plantations on your way. Kibale Forest is a spectacular jungle, with 13 primate species, including chimps, baboons, black and white colobus, red colobus, grey-cheeked mangabey, and the L'Hoest monkey. Dinner and overnight will be at Chimpanzee Guest House.
After an early morning breakfast, you will drive to the park headquarters at Kanyachu where the park rangers will brief you about chimpanzee tracking. After this, in the company of the ranger guide, you will set out into the forest to look for the chimpanzee which is the closest friends and relative to man. Then in the afternoon, you will head to Bigodi Swamp. It is considered as one of the bird watchers’ paradise since it has many types of birds and monkeys that are mainly seen in the swamp. Dinner and overnight will be at Chimpanzee Guest House.
You will be transferred to the Queen Elizabeth National Park. On your way, you will pass the equator where you will make a stop. You will go for a game drive in the afternoon at Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of the best places in Uganda to see lions. Here, there is a possibility of seeing elephants, lions, many hippos, crocodiles, buffalos, and leopards. Dinner and overnight will be at Simba Safari Lodge.
You will go for a game drive in the morning and have a boat trip on the Kazinga Channel in the afternoon. The Kazinga Channel is one of the highlights of Uganda and has the highest concentration of hippos in the world. Before your flight, you will have a full day excursion in Entebbe, you will visit the Banga Beach and eat fish as your lunch, then proceed to the airport.
