Accommodation

You will stay for 5 nights in several accommodations as per itinerary.

Program

Day 1: Arrival

You will be picked up at 08:00 from your hotel or place of accommodation by your guide / driver. You will then depart from Kampala and drive through the papyrus swamps and thick jungle of the Nile Delta to Kibale National Park. Afterward, you will check into the place of accommodation and, depending on our time of arrival, you can have guided walks in the afternoon in the Crater Lake areas of the park as well as an outstanding cultural visit.

Day 2: Kibale National Park - Queen Elizabeth National Park

You will embark on an exciting early morning track for chimpanzees in the thick jungle of Kibale Forest. Then, you will drive southwards to Queen Elizabeth National Park in the afternoon and enjoy the sightseeing as well as game viewing en route. You will then check into your place of accommodation where you will later have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Queen Elizabeth National Park

You will wake up early and depart at 06:00 for a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park aiming to catch the lions hunting in the morning. Lions usually hunt as the day dawns since the temperatures are cooler. You can also expect to see the Ugandan kobs, elephants, buffalos, warthogs, leopards, and waterbucks.

After the game drive, you will have lunch and then enjoy a boat cruise on Kazinga Channel which connects Lake Edward and Lake George. You can expect to see large numbers of buffalos and hippos. After the boat cruise, you will return to your place of accommodation, have dinner and rest.

Day 4: Kyambura Gorge - Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

You will begin the day with breakfast and then embark on a drive to Kyambura Gorge for a primate walk expecting to see chimpanzees, vervet monkeys, olive baboons and black-and-white colobus monkeys. You will then drive south making a game drive to Ishasha on your way to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Ishasha is mostly famous for its tree-climbing lions.

On arrival at Bwindi, you will check into your place of accommodation where you will have dinner and take a rest. Depending on your time of arrival, you can have a walking safari around the local communities living around the park. You also have opportunities to discover the local Bakiga and Batwa Pygmy people.

Day 5: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, you will prepare for your gorilla tracking adventure which begins at 08:00 with a briefing at the information center by the Uganda Wildlife Authority staff. You will then be guided into the jungle to track the shy primates. Gorilla tracking may take 3 to 7 hours but it is well worth the effort.

It is advisable to bring along a rain jacket and hiking boots. At the end of this long and exciting adventure, you will return to your place of accommodation for a well-deserved shower, dinner, and rest.

Day 6: Kampala

You will begin the day with breakfast and then embark on your journey back to Kampala, making a lunch stop en route at Mbarara. Afterward, you will proceed and make another stop at the equator in Masaka. Here, you will see where this imaginary line divides the planet into two equal hemispheres. Snacks, souvenirs, and photographs may be taken here before you proceed your journey. You will arrive in Kampala later in the evening and be dropped off at an agreed location.
