On this safari, you will stay for 2 nights at Buhoma Lodge in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and 2 nights at Kasenyi Safari Camp in Queen Elizabeth National Park.


Day 1: Fly to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Pick up is from your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala to take a domestic flight to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest with a beautiful scenery to view and take aerial photographs. This flight will save you the road trip that takes about nine hours or longer.

On arrival, you will be met by a company representative for a transfer to your overnight accommodation at Buhoma Lodge, a luxury tented camp. Please note that lodging depends on where in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest you obtain gorilla permits for your gorilla tracking experience.

There will be opt for a village walk or a village bike ride which benefits a women’s group. On this walk or ride, you will get to see how crafts are made, a traditional beer which is prepared from bananas, and how the preparation of a local gin called waragi is distilled. Other things to see are local farms and how food is prepared over an open fire.

Complete the walk with a visit to a local school and a dance performance by the Batwa Pygmy community. (Depending on the time of your local flight you might have lunch before departure or on arrival in Bwindi). You will have dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma Lodge.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking

You will have breakfast and thereafter, will move out for the awaited day to the park headquarters for briefing before heading on to search for the gentle giants of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

Things to bring along for a great trek are packed lunch, a light rain jacket, hiking boots, long-sleeved shirts to avoid getting scratched by branches, a hat, a well charged camera, long trousers or jeans, and gardening gloves to help you have a firm grip as you pull yourself up on branches and vines.

Gorilla tracking may last between 2 and up to 8 hours since the mountain gorillas are always on the move and build new nests every day. On finding the gorillas, the allowed time around them is 1 hour for conservation reasons. You can use the allowed time to watch and take memorable pictures of the gentle giants. After the gorilla trek, you will return for dinner and overnight at Buhoma Lodge.

Day 3: Queen Elizabeth National Park

You will have breakfast at your overnight accommodation before heading to the Ishasha plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park, the best place to see tree climbing lions in Africa.

Besides the tree climbing lions, the Ishasha sector is also host to elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes such as the topis and the Uganda kob, plus leopards with chances of seeing the elusive shoebill stork along the swamps.

Have a lunch break at Savannah Resort before continuing to the northern area of Queen Elizabeth National Park for dinner and overnight at Kansenyi Safari Camp, located on the Kasenyi plains also known as Lion Country.

Day 4: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Today, you will move out early for a morning game drive for an opportunity to view the predators returning from the night’s hunt, elephant herds, buffaloes, antelopes, bush pigs, giant forest hogs, leopards, and savannah birds. This game drive may last between 2 - 4 hours before your return for breakfast and relax in wait for lunch.

After lunch, you will go for an afternoon boat ride on Kazinga Channel to see the highest concentration of hippos in Africa. The boat cruise covers the Mweya peninsula and moves towards Lake Edward providing great opportunities to see hundreds of birds, crocodiles, hippos, elephant herds, buffaloes, antelopes, and some monitor lizards. Dinner and overnight Kasenyi Safari Camp.

Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking - return to Entebbe

Breakfast and off to Kyambura Gorge which is a part of the western Rift Valley and is a fascinating place for chimpanzee tracking and a scenic wonder created by nature. The trek lasts about three hours, moreover, you are allowed to spend one hour with the habituated chimpanzees.

The trek is guided trek with expert guides and trackers for a more fulfilling trek in Kyambura Gorge. While on the trek, you will see other primates, birds, and mammals. Return for lunch and thereafter set off for your flight back to Entebbe International Airport (EBB) and enjoy the views from above. Arrive Entebbe to be received by your driver guide for a transfer to your overnight hotel in Entebbe in preparation for your onward flight home. End of Safari.
