Bwindi Impenetrable National Park lies in southwestern Uganda on the edge of the East African Rift Valley. You will visit one of Uganda’s most popular national parks renown for its mountain gorillas and hosts slightly over 50% of the world’s remaining population in a very serene and beautiful environment. Tracking the mountain gorillas is a thrilling experience to remember for life!
Based on your budget plan, you can choose to stay for 2 nights at Buhoma Community Rest Camp (budget), The Haven Lodge (moderate), or Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp Uganda (luxury).
You'll go on a very early morning departure. Picked up from overnight accommodation in Kampala to head southwest with a lunch stopover along the way. Highlights along the way include equator imaginary line that divides the north and south hemisphere, Ankole Longhorn cattle, beautiful scenery, and expanded matooke farms.
You'll arrive in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the late evening for dinner and overnight at Buhoma Community Rest Camp (budget), The Haven Lodge (moderate), and Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp Uganda (luxury).
This is the day for gorilla tracking. You'll have early breakfast and go to the information center for a briefing before embarking on this lifetime experience with the gorillas. The tracking may last a few hours or a whole day depending on how far they have moved.
The maximum allowed time with the gorillas is 1 hour to control their behavior disturbance and disease transmission risks. Dinner and overnight will be at Buhoma Community Rest Camp (budget), The Haven Lodge (moderate), and Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp Uganda (luxury).
Loaded with memories of your experience with the gorillas, you'll depart Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for the journey back to Kampala with lunch en route and a stopover at the equator imaginary line, to see the water experiment, take pictures, and have a look at some souvenirs. You'll arrive in Kampala late in the evening and drop off at an agreed location or transfer to Entebbe for the onward flight the next day.
