Join this magnificent 3-day chimpanzee safari in Uganda where you will visit Kibale National Park. During this safari, you will go on a nature walk at Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary in search of chimps and other primates as well as the bird species. You will also enjoy the scenic views of tea plantations on your way to the national park. This safari includes 2 nights' accommodation at Chimpanzee Nest Guest House (budget). You can also upgrade the accommodation type to Primate Lodge (moderate), or Kyaninga Safari Lodge (luxury).
You will depart from Kampala via Mityana, Mubende and Fort Portal with a stopover for lunch and on through the tea plantations. You will arrive to check in at the overnight accommodation. Dinner and overnight at either Chimps’ Nest (budget), Primate Lodge (moderate), or Kyaninga Lodge (luxury).
You will have an early breakfast and head out to search for the habituated chimpanzees and return for lunch before going out to Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a nature walk. Bigodi is host to over 138 bird species, primates like the black and white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, rey-cheeked mangabeys, and the red-tailed monkeys.
The Bigodi wetland nature walks are an initiative of the local community and are therefore a direct way of giving back to the community. Dinner and overnight at either Chimps’ Nest (budget), Primate Lodge (moderate), or Kyaninga Lodge (luxury).
You will depart from Kibale National Park with memories of your encounter with the chimpanzees and return to Kampala with a lunch stopover along the way. Then, you will be dropped off at a place of your choice in Kampala.
This safari will take place at Kibale National Park, in Uganda. Kibale National Park is a forest supporting a wet tropical forest and a deciduous dry forest on the other side with woodland and savannah on its rift valley floor. This park covers the size of about 795 square kilometers and hosts to many species which include about 13 primate species, 60 mammal species, over 375 bird species and almost 351 tree species.
