During this safari, you can choose to stay at Mark's Camp, Lentaba Safari Lodge, and Tree Tops Safari Lodge. The rates for Mark's Camp and Lentaba Safari Lodge are the same, while Tree Tops Safari Lodge has a different rate.

Mark's Camp

The stone and thatch chalets, as well as the main lodge of Mark’s Camp, are decorated in a relaxed pan-African style. This safari lodge sleeps up to 20 guests in eight chalets. Each comfortably furnished chalet has an en-suite bathroom and ceiling fans for those warm summer nights. The chalets open up onto your own private viewing deck with views over the surrounding bush.

Mark's Camp has two swimming pools and a central lounge area. They also have an outdoor dining boma for fireside dinners and open-air brunches, as well as a gracious indoor dining area. The bar area is elevated and you will have great views of the waterhole from the safety of the bar.

Lentaba Safari Lodge

Lentaba Safari Lodge sleeps 16 people in eight secluded thatched chalets, placed where magnificent indigenous gardens merge into the surrounding bush. Each en-suite unit has a private observation deck to make the most of the views over the valley bushveld. The main lodge is decorated in a traditional African safari style and boasts a large lounge, viewing deck, and a sunny swimming pool where you can spend a lazy afternoon.

The rooms at Lentaba are nicely spread out, and each room has great views of the valley below. The lodge has various places where you can sit and unwind. There are two decks with commanding views of the valley and waterhole, an inside lounge as well as an outside lounge. Lentaba has three fireplaces and these add to the great safari ambiance that Lentaba is so well known for. The outdoor dining boma has a commanding view of a waterhole which is spotlit after dark for night game viewing. There is also a stylish indoor dining area.

Tree Tops Safari Lodge

Tree Tops Safari Lodge differs from other lodges in that it is a tented camp. The safari tents perched high on thatched platforms at tree top level are joined by raised walkways and offer spectacular views over the thickly-wooded valley. Tree Tops Safari Lodge sleeps 10 people in 5 rooms. The en-suite rooms, with their canvas walls and thatched roofs, have huge window areas and give guests the feeling of being right in the bush.

Each room has a private veranda where guests can sit and relax in privacy. As with other lodges, Tree Tops Safari Lodge has a large lounge and an open-air dining deck with a view over a small waterhole. You can sunbathe around the swimming pool or relax in the shaded gazebo. The lodge also has a small waterhole between the lodge and the swimming pool.

Upon arrival at your lodge, the lodge manager will give you a welcome and a "do's" and "don't" talk. Since predators are generally inactive during the daytime, most hunting will be done in the early hours of the morning and late in the evening. Your early morning and sunset game drives will be done in an open vehicle with an experienced game ranger. They will bring you face to face with a multitude of game species.

High tea will be served at your lodge in the late afternoon after which you depart on your first game drive. It is a sunset drive and you will return after nightfall for a safari cuisine dinner. After dinner, you will have the opportunity to sit around the fire, have a drink, and chat with your ranger and other guests. The following morning, you will have an early morning wake-up call and a light breakfast will be served before your early morning game drive begins. You will return from your morning game drive in time for a sumptuous brunch. You will have time to relax between brunch and afternoon high tea. This will be the time to have a sleep, lie at the pool, or read a book.

This safari will take place at Lalibela Game Reserve. It consists of 9,000 hectares (approximately 22,000 acres) and is home to the Big Five (lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo, and leopard) as well as other predators like cheetah, hyena, jackal, and lynx. The reserve is blessed with vast African plains and this is why it has multitudes of zebra, giraffe, warthog, impala, wildebeest, blesbuck, and various other antelope species.

Only an hour away from Port Elizabeth and Addo, there are no public roads running through the property. This means that only Lalibela guests have access to the wildlife area and you will never encounter a member of public whilst on safari as there are no public roads on Lalibela. In addition to the larger, more known wild animals, Lalibela has various lesser known species, the curious spring hare is as fascinating as the mighty African elephant. Apart from the wide variety of wildlife, there is a plethora of birdlife to be found at Lalibela, the keen birder can expect to spot birds on safari, at the lodge, or even from the viewing deck of their room.

During this safari, you will be served daily meals including brunches that will be served al fresco on the main viewing deck.
