Your accommodation is mainly in well-established campsites where you will set-up camp with your fully equipped 4x4. You will also stay for one night at Big Fig Inn, three nights at Chobe Safari Lodge, and one night at Nata Lodge.

Day 1: Big Fin Inn

Meet up at O. R. Tambo International Airport (JNB) and travel to Big Fig Inn outside the Groblersbrug border post. The group gets to know one another and Kwando Adventures will brief the group on arrangements and plans. You will spend your first night around the fire.

Day 2: Kubu Island

After breakfast, you head out into the bush and onto the vast, flat expanse of the Makgadikgadi Pans where you camp at Kubu Island. This outcrop of granite, situated on the vast saltpans, boasts among Southern Africa’s finest examples of huge Baobab trees. The magnificent sunset will set the backdrop as we enjoy a sundowner on the pan while getting to know each other. While sitting around the campfire, your host will elaborate extensively on what to expect over the next ten days.

Day 3: Maun

For the early birds and keen photographers, an awe-inspiring sunrise will greet you while enjoying coffee and rusks. After breakfast and an informative meander around the island, you head north on a two-spoor track along the edge of the empty saltpans, having a picnic lunch along the way. Your destination: a campsite outside Maun.

Day 4: Maun

You will spend the morning in Maun where you and the group will restock and refuel. While in Maun, there will be an opportunity, for those who choose to do so, to take a one-hour scenic flight over the Okavango Delta. Each one can spend the day in and around Maun at own leisure and meet with the group in the afternoon at the campsite. Once again, at the camp, you will enjoy a relaxed evening around the fire.

Day 5: Okavango River Sepupa

After morning coffee and rusks, you will break camp and drive in a westerly direction. After visiting Lake Ngami, turn north at Sehithwa to travel around the western side of the delta to your next camp at Sepupa on the banks of the Okavango River. You will camp under the trees and enjoy a late afternoon boat cruise on the river.

Day 6: Ngepi

Head north out of Botswana and into Namibia via the mystical Tsodilo Hills with their magnificent Bushman paintings. In Tsodilo, we visit the museum and have a picnic lunch in this geological wonderland, which is the highest point in Botswana. Ngepi is your gateway to the northeastern corner of Namibia with its perennial rivers, magnificent indigenous woodlands, riverine forests, floodplains, and reed-lined channels.

It is the ideal base from which to explore the Mahango Game Park with over 450 species of birds recorded. A wide variety of wildlife species, including elephant, hippo, buffalo, crocodile, red lechwe, reedbuck, roan, and sable antelope is available. If you’re lucky, even the elusive Sitatunga antelope can be observed. The campsite for the next two nights is located on the banks of the Okavango River. Situated in a riverine belt of giant Jackalberry trees with it’s interesting floating swimming pool and lush surroundings, the camp provides the perfect setting for socializing and relaxing after your daily activities.

Day 7: Ngepi

Today everyone has the opportunity to lie-in as you will be doing a game drive in the nearby Bwabwata Game Reserve with its unique sand tracks and very interesting history. You will return to the lushness of the base and enjoy a long sun-downer on the river. Boat rides are available (not included) to enjoy.

Day 8: Camp Kwando

After breakfast, you will break camp and travel a short distance so see Popa Falls. You will stock-up at traditional "country store" in Divundu and head off to the base for the next two nights. Set up camp under shady trees and enjoy a swim. Around the fire, conversation completes the day.

Day 9: Mamili and Mudumu National Parks

Camp Kwando remains your base for today. After breakfast, head out to a day of game drives through the two national parks. Time to sit back and relax, take some pictures, and be intrigued by the beauty. This is one place that you will not want to leave. Late afternoon, you return to camp to enjoy the stunning sunset across the Kwando River.

Day 10: Chobe

Leaving Camp Kwando after breakfast, you will say goodbye to Namibia and enter Botswana via Ngoma border. Pass through the town of Katima Mulilo en route to your base for the next three nights at Chobe Safari Lodge on the Chobe river. Here, you will have access to all the amenities of the lodge, a real piece of heaven.

Day 11: Chobe National Park

You will enjoy a self-drive game drive in the morning and a three-hour boat cruise on the Chobe River into the park in the afternoon. These activities are included in your price. You will most certainly take these memorable moments back to tell your friends and family.

Day 12: Victoria Falls

With Chobe Safari Lodge still your base for tonight, you will head out after breakfast on a bus trip to your destination, the magnificent Victoria Falls. Pass through the Kazungula Border into Zimbabwe on the way to the town of Victoria Falls. After taking in the wonders of the falls, do some sight-seeing and shopping in the village of Victoria Falls, and, for the brave of heart, there are a number of adventure activities such as bungy jumping and helicopter flights over the falls (not included in the tour price).

Victoria Falls, or Mosi-oa-Tunya, is a waterfall in Southern Africa on the Zambezi River at the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. It has been described by CNN as one of the seven natural wonders of the world. Lunch (not included) can be enjoyed at any of the numerous restaurants in the town of Victoria Falls. Return by bus back to your camp to kick feet up in the air and enjoy the tranquillity of the fire.

Day 13: Elephant Sands

Pack and travel south to the next camp at the renowned Elephant Sands Lodge. Here, you will sit on the deck and watch the elephants drink water and play just a few meters away from you. Trust Kwando Adventures if they say that you will not forget this experience! Enjoy a drink in the bar or just relax at the fire.

Day 14: Nata Lodge

Today, you will have a short distance onto your next camp at Nata Lodge. You will have a lazy morning and drive to Nata. Today, you do not have to set camp as you will be accommodated in the luxury of the lodge (included). Enjoy a swim at this beautiful lodge. In the late afternoon, you will drive to Sau Pan for the last but most definitely one of the highlights of the trip. Enjoy sunset across Sau Pan. Need no more explanation but wait and see. The last night around the fire will conclude this life changing experience.

Day 15: End of adventure

After breakfast, travel back to Johannesburg where you say goodbye at the central point.
