Budongo Eco Lodge is a comfortable lodge featuring eco-cabins with private veranda, spacious dorm rooms, a visitor's center and restaurant located in Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda. The lodge has ensuite forest cabins and dormitory room with modern and comfortable facilities. The room has a double bed, mosquito net, free breakfast and an ensuite bathroom. Terrace gardens are available with a serene view of the national park.
Continental dishes are served with a variety of local and international dishes available for guests. Free breakfast is available. The lodge has a bar and lounge with a view of the park.The hotel offers laundry service, on-site parking, security personnel.
Situated in Paraa, this lodge is 11 miles (17.7 kilometers) away from Murchison Falls National Park and 16.1 miles (26 kilometers) away from Murchison Falls National Park Northern Gate.
An elevated lounge area, complete with bar and dining facilities, offers a cozy, comfortable environment to discuss the day’s activities around the fireplace. Buhoma Lodge has eight comfortable cottages each with its own private veranda, offering extensive views of the forest canopy of the national park. Inside the spacious cottages have comfortable beds, a well-appointed en-suite bathroom with flushing toilet and a hot shower, some rooms have bathtubs.
On your arrival, Kubwa Five Safaris’ representative, with your name printed on an A4 paper, will welcome you to Uganda at Entebbe International Airport (EBB) and transfer you to Sky Hotel International in Kampala, located 10 kilometers from the city center towards Naalya Housing Estate. Sky Hotel International has a capacity of 29 rooms with twin beds, taking up 58 guests. There is one restaurant, which is open from 07:00 - 10:00. for breakfast. However, it is open for the rest of the day for meals. Depending on your arrival time, relax in your already-booked hotel after a long flight while you are dreaming of your safari tomorrow morning at 07:00 and then driven across several districts to Murchison Falls National Park. A stopover will be made at Masindi where you will have lunch then proceed to the top of Murchison falls where the Nile forces its way through a gorge in the rocks and tumbles 43 meters below flowing westwards into Lake Albert. You will then check into Budongo Eco Lodge for an overnight stay.
After an early breakfast, set off for a morning game drive on the Northern Delta Nile. Lions, buffalos, waterbucks, Jackson’s hartebeest, Rothschild’s giraffes, oribis, and baboons are some of the animals to expect. Other activities in this game drive include bird watching and sightseeing across the open savannah, dotted woodland, and riverine vegetation along the Nile and Albert delta. You will then return to the camp to rest and have lunch after which you will embark on a three-hour boat cruise on the Nile. This boat ride offers an amazing view of the falls from the bottom angle. Hippos, crocodiles, antelopes, and aquatic birds can be seen along the shores of the river. Dinner and overnight stay are at Paraa Safari Lodge.
After breakfast, you will transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home of the mountain gorilla. Enjoy the drive as you will spot Lake Albert, the Rwenzori ranges, Kibale forest, and the beautiful lakes Edward and George. Dinner and overnight stay are at Buhoma Lodge. It is situated within the Bwindi National Park, less than five minutes' walk from the gorilla trekking start point.
After breakfast, prepare for the gorilla tracking adventure that begins at 08:00. with a briefing at the information center by the Uganda Wildlife Authority staff. You will then be guided into the jungle to track the shy primates. Gorilla tracking may take three to seven hours but it’s well worth the effort. It’s advisable to bring along a rain jacket, and hiking boots. At the end of this long and exciting adventure, return to your lodge for a well-deserved shower, dinner, and rest. Dinner and overnight stay are at Buhoma Lodge.
After breakfast, transfer back to Kampala making a lunch stop en-route at Mbarara. Proceed to make another stop at the equator in Masaka to see where this imaginary line divides our planet into two equal hemispheres. Snacks, souvenirs, and photographs may be taken here. Arrive in Kampala later that evening and transferred to Entebbe International Airport (EBB) for your departure flight.

When Ray is not working, he spends time discovering the next best recipe to use to cook up a storm, from Paella to making Spanish Inspired cocktails.
He has been in the tour industry for over 7 years. He is a senior diver guide who is very familiar with all the major destinations in Uganda. His daily duties include guest transfer between airports, hotels, camps, and tourist attraction areas in Uganda. With adverse knowledge of flora and fauna, excellent driving skills, flexibility and generous smile, Peter will welcome and guide you around this wonderful country. He proudly shares his knowledge of wildlife and sites with openness and a touch of humor. What he enjoys most during his guiding tours are the sunrises and sunsets.
He has worked for 17 years in the safari industry, and previous worked as a field guide trainer about cats and character, before working full time as a guide. Emmanuel is passionate about making guests happy and likes nature in general. Emanuel loves all creatures large and small. He excels at engaging with family and friends at whatever lever as he is adaptable and easy going. While he makes time for everyone he equally enjoys a quiet time relaxing with a good read.

Birding both on the game drives and the launch trips offer an opportunity for one to come across distinct birdlife including the savannah forest birds, water birds, albertine rift endemics and the Shoebills.
Games Drives in the park will reveal a wide range of animals including Giraffe, Elephant, Buffalo, Antelopes, Simba (King of the jungle) to mention but a few. You may even spot a leopard at dusk.
Hiking and nature walks will show you vast landscapes and the varied scenery of Murchison falls national park and the surrounding conservation area. Trails through Kaniyo- Pabidi, Rubongo and Budongo forests provide sightings of many primates and birds. Guided swamp walks offer possible shoebill sightings.
Launch trips/Boat cruises on the Nile present an astonishing display of wildlife and culminates into a memorable frontal view of the falls. Also recommended for birders is a morning cruise downstream to the Nile-lake Albert delta.
Sport fishing on the banks of the Nile below Murchison falls provides exciting challenges to anglers. Living within strong currents and highly oxygenated water is the Nile perch.
Cultural encounters with energetic traditional entertainers performing around lodge campfires will make for a magical African experience at dusk. Boomu women’s group offers accommodation, a craft shop and village tours, revealing the realities of this rural community.
At Bwindi impenetrable national park is home to over half of the only remaining world’s mountain gorillas, whose encounter and consequent eye contact is the most exciting and poignant wildlife experience in the whole of Africa.
This impenetrable forest is the oldest and most biologically diverse rainforest. It lies at the edge of the rift valley in southwestern Uganda providing natural habitat to 400 plant species, 120 mammal species, 346 bird species, 202 species of butterflies, 163 tree species, 100 species of ferns, 27 species of frogs, chameleons, geckos, among many endangered species.
