This safari to Tarangire National Park is a short wildlife safari in Tanzania starting and ending in Arusha. Tarangire is one of the famous national parks of Tanzania with its unique Baobab trees, elephants, zebras, wildebeest, and 550 species of birds. This private safari is suitable for you who want to spend your short holiday with your friends and families. You will get the freedom to choose luxurious, standard, and basic accommodation and each accommodation has its own features that will make your stay in Tanzania become an unforgettable one.
You will be accommodated based on the package that you choose. For upmarket / luxury package, you will be accommodated at Tarangire Sopa Lodge. If you choose mid range / standard package, you will be accommodated at Kirurumu Tarangire Lodge. Maramboi Tented Camp is available to you if you choose the budget / basic package.
Tarangire Sopa Lodge is recognized as one of the best parks on the northern circuit for elephant viewing during the dry season and Tarangire Sopa is ideally placed to experience this. The lodge welcomes guests to its vast marble-floored reception area with cold flannels and iced juice. In the pretty gardens, there is a large circular pool with a central island, a pool bar, and elegant wooden lounges demonstrate the lodge's commitment to comfort. Delicious barbecue lunches are often served here.
A broad veranda wraps itself around the lodge and gives prime viewing for the waterhole below, which is filled during the dry season and becomes a magnet to wildlife. The rooms at the lodge are simple, comfortable, spacious, and arranged in groups of four, in African-style buildings. Large sliding doors open to a private balcony.
Kirurumu Tarangire Lodge is built on the site of the old Tamarind Camp in Tarangire, in the land they own and looking out on a floodplain that is seasonally a rich feeding ground for elephant and much else. At Kirurumu Tarangire Lodge, there are 10 permanent tented cottages built in exactly the same style as the new Kirurumu Manyara Lodge cottages and the standards are the same high standards you have always been familiar with at Manyara.
Maramboi Tented Camp is sitting on the shores of Lake Manyara. Maramboi is a large permanent tented camp offering game drives in both Manyara National Park and Tarangire. It shares its unique location with just one other lodge and is a lovely quiet alternative to the value lodges clustered around the north of Tarangire.
Maramboi is a little on the large side with 32 standard tents, eight suites and two units with two interconnected rooms. But given its very quiet location, on the shores of Lake Manyara but closer to Tarangire National Park, the lodge doesn’t feel crowded. The rooms themselves are permanent tents sitting on raised wooden platforms and are surprisingly good given the price. Maramboi Tented Camp is large, tasteful, and clean with 24-hour electricity.
The safari starts with pick up from Arusha hotel or Arusha Airport (ARK). After safari briefing, you will depart from Arusha at the latest by 09:00 to arrive at Tarangire for lunch. In the late afternoon hours, you will enjoy evening game drive in Tarangire National Park. It is 150 kilometers and about two to three hours drive enjoying the views of the scenic countryside.
Upon arrival, you will embark on a game drive standing chances of viewing a range of wild game in the park including elephants, lions, zebras, wildebeests, giraffe, waterbuck, and olive Baboons. The park is also famous for its unique baobab trees along with 550 species of birds.
Depending on your departure flight from Arusha, you can either enjoy a morning game drive in Tarangire National Park before driving back to Arusha or depart after breakfast and driving back to Arusha to arrive in the late morning hours with drop off at an Arusha city hotel or at Arusha Airport (ARK) in time for your onward flight to Zanzibar or Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) in connection to your departure flight back home.
The transportation is in a 4x4 safari Land Cruiser / minivan (up to eight passengers) with pop-up tops and seven window seats for game viewing. Groups of twelve or more people who would like to travel in one vehicle are offered 25-28 seat coasters that have about 16 window seats. Kubwa Five's safari vehicles are well-maintained to provide the maximum level of comfort and safety.
The success of your safari will largely depend on your driver / guide. Because of this, Kubwa Five Safaris has a great team of carefully selected well-trained drivers / guides.

This safari will take place at Tarangire National Park in Tanzania.
Tarangire National Park is often described as Tanzania's most underrated national park. Tarangire is one of Africa's little-known gems and a must for any northern circuit itinerary. Boasting a variety of wildlife as diverse as its landscape, the park can boast itself as being home to Tanzania's largest population of African elephants. With four of the Big Five also residing within the park, it is a great spot for a day trip from Arusha.
Named for the Tarangire River which flows through it, the park is an excellent choice during the dry season when animals are forced to move closer and closer to the river in search of water. Set against a backdrop of majestic baobab trees and twisted acacia, it makes for a beautiful experience.
Kubwa Five Safaris takes care of your dietary needs as far as the hotels cooperate which is usually positive when you let them know in advance so that they can make any necessary arrangements with different lodges in your itinerary.
