The African safari lodge has multiple rondavels which blend in with the charm and serenity of the surrounding bush. The interior of the rondavels feels luxurious and is fully safari styled. All of the rondavels have an en-suite bathroom and air conditioning. A private terrace is placed at the front of your Africa safari lodge. One of the rondavels is wheelchair accessible and has modifications in the bathroom to make it suitable for guests with disabilities.

Besides typical African safari styled rondavels, the lodge has a shady terrace overlooking a waterhole and a pool to cool down on the hot summer days. On the cool winter evenings, you can enjoy the campfire in the traditional African boma.

You will enjoy the comfortable and personal atmosphere at this rustic, intimate lodge while listening to the sounds of the bush at night and discover the breathtaking stars of the southern skies.

Day 0: Arrival in Johannesburg, South Africa

Fly to Johannesburg and depending on the airline you choose, you will arrive the same day late in the evening or the next day (note: If you fly at night you must take your ticket a day earlier due to the arrival times you will not catch the domestic transit to Maun on the same day) on O.R. Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg. One of Ku Sungula Safari Lodge's team members will be waiting for you and will accompany you to the overnight lodge in Johannesburg if necessary.

  • Accommodation: Not included

Day 1: Arrival at Maun, Botswana

Together with the photographer with whom you have already become acquainted, you will leave in time for O.R. Tambo International Airport (JNB) for your domestic flight to Maun. Arriving in Maun, one team member will be ready for you and drive you to your first overnight stay in a lodge where you can meet the rest of the team while enjoying a welcome drink and a snack.

Maun, also known as the gateway to the Delta, is a fast growing city where construction is taking place at a rapid pace.

  • Accommodation: Thamakalane River Lodge

Day 2 and 3: Moremi Game Reserve

The adventure starts! Leave early in the morning north to Khwai, a wild area that borders the Moremi Game Reserve. This unique area is being developed by the local population for tourism. The first game drive is planned for the afternoon, in which you will look for the abundance of wildlife in this area. Upon your return, the chef has prepared a delicious dinner for you and you will dine under the beautiful starry sky of Botswana.

The next morning, you will have a Mokoro tour, photography from the water. You will explore the maze of the many waterways in canoes made from hollowed-out tree trunks. You will enjoy this unique delta under the expert guidance of a poler who is moving the canoe through the shallow water.

After lunch it is time to relax and view your first photos. Another game drive is planned for later in the afternoon.

  • Accommodation: Khwai Campsite

Day 4: Maun

After breaking up the camp, you will leave for Maun again. In the afternoon, you will arrive at your next camping place and you can relax, take a dip in the pool, or read a book, it is entirely up to you. You can also take an optional a flight above the delta or take a look between the local people of Maun and the many shops.

  • Accommodation: Okavango River Lodge Campsite

Day 5: Nxai Pan

Nxai Pan is located north of Maun and connects the Makgadikgadi National Park on the northern border. The park has a size of 40 square kilometers and consists mainly of fossil dry river beds. The gearing of the game viewer is switched on. Driving through this beautiful area and enjoying the wonderful nature, you will drive to the edge of the Boteti River where you will camp for the next two nights.
