The magic that people search for when they travel does not come from the place. It comes from the heart. This is what Ktosh Group Africa Adventures believes, and this will be what they will show you when you come to make your African journey with them. Under the foot of the snow-capped majestic Mount Kilimanjaro, you will have an experience that will touch you so deeply that you will feel heartstrings stretched across oceans upon your return home.
Airport transfer included: Jomo Kenyatta International Airport
Set in 200 acres of private land and with a rustic charm all of its own, the lodge nestles in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro which, at almost six thousand meters, is Africa’s highest and most famous snow-capped mountain.
It was this region of Kenya that, in the 1930’s, inspired Ernest Hemingway’s unforgettable stories ‘The Snows of Kilimanjaro’ and ‘The Short, Happy Life of Francis Macomber’ which were turned into more than successful feature films in the late 1940’s due to their renowned actors. All forms of wildlife still abound in this wilderness which continues all the way to the Amboseli National Park, an easy twenty minute drive away from the lodge.
While the park conserves over six hundred breeding species of birds as well a host of rare and wonderful wildlife, this is also home to the Maasai people, perhaps the world’s most renowned African tribe.
Rustic and well spaced cottages meander through the vast expanse of their mature gardens and house their 83 guest rooms. These are all brightly decorated with Maasai-themed wall murals, and each room has been purpose-built to contain either one or two queen size beds as well as a veranda.
In place of Amboseli Sopa Lodge, it is also possible for you to stay in Kibo Safari Camp during your first two nights of this safari. Kibo Safari Camp is a luxury tented camp in Amboseli National Park. The beds have been custom-designed and locally made using bush logs and will ensure a good night’s sleep. All tents have flush toilets, showers, and wash basins. You can enjoy your shower as you like, bubbling hot or refreshing cold. For the duration of your stay in the African bush, Kibo Safari Camp will be your home away from home.
The Flamingo Hill Camp is situated within the famous Lake Nakuru National Park, which lies within the Great Rift Valley of Kenya. The camp is small and exclusive, comprising 25 tents. The tents are furnished with the understated luxury required by modern travelers. Decorated in calming safari tones, natural woods, wrought iron, and crisp cottons, each tent has been meticulously planned to maximize comfort.
Located high on the slopes of the Oloolaimutia Hills, Masai Mara Sopa Lodge was one of the first safari lodges to be built in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, a reason why its gardens and trees are so lush and mature. All the buildings follow the design of traditional African round houses with conical roofs, and these stretch along the line of the hills with the impressively large public area buildings and the swimming pool at their center.
The lodge has 50 guest cottages divided into two wings to either side of the main public areas. Each of these house two spacious guest rooms with queen and king size beds, mosquito nets, electronic safes, dressing tables, en-suite bathrooms, and sheltered verandas that all have views over the gardens and the game reserve beyond.
In place of Mara Sopa Lodge, it is also possible for you to stay in Mara Leisure Tented Lodge during your last two nights on this safari. Set in what is considered Kenya's prime wildlife area, Mara Leisure Camp is located along the Talek River, at the confluence of the Maasai Mara's four wildlife viewing areas, on the northern boundary of the Maasai Mara Game Reserve.
Mara Leisure Camp is located within one of the most spectacular locations in the entire Maasai Mara Game Reserve. One of the most exciting spectacles in the world is that of the great migration, where two million wildebeest, zebras and other herbivores pass through the Maasai Mara or Serengeti ecosystem in Kenya and Tanzania. This is a perilous migration for the animals, where they encounter many river crossings, and have to run the gauntlet of crocodiles in waiting.
Depart from Nairobi in the morning for Amboseli National Park at the foot of the snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain. You will enjoy your lunch at a lodge. An afternoon game drive will follow right after that. You will have your dinner and stay overnight at Amboseli Sopa Lodge or Kibo Safari Camp.
You will enjoy a full day in this photogenic park. You will have morning and afternoon game drives, while meals will be served at the place you are staying at. For today, you will still stay overnight at Amboseli Sopa Lodge or Kibo Safari Camp.
Amboseli National park is one of the most popular wildlife sanctuaries in Kenya. It is situated close to Kenya - Tanzania border. The park lies at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa (5,896 meters) whose snow-capped summit presents a splendid view on clear days. Amboseli National Park is often referred to as the home of elephants, as some of the largest elephant herds are found there.
You will depart from the lodge soon after breakfast and proceed to Lake Nakuru via Nairobi. You will have your lunch en-route followed by late afternoon game drives. You will enjoy your dinner and stay overnight at Flamingo Hill Camp.
Lake Nakuru’s claim to fame is anchored on its flamingos and the over 400 species of birds found there. The lake itself is a soda lake on the floor of the rift valley. The sight of the millions of flamingos is quite spectacular. From a distance, the lake appears ringed in pink. The lake has also earned a reputation as an important haven for endangered species, particularly the Rothschild giraffe and the black and white rhino. Lions, waterbuck, buffalo, and baboons are all residents there.
After breakfast, you will depart for Maasai Mara, the land of vast migrating animals. Arrival will be in time for lunch. After lunch, you will embark on a game drive. Tonight, you will enjoy your dinner and stay overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge or Mara Leisure Tented Lodge.
Today, you will spend an entire day exploring Maasai Mara in search of the big five. Morning and afternoon game drives are offered. Optional hot air balloon safari can be arranged at an extra cost of 450 USD per person. You will have your dinner and stay overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge or Mara Leisure Tented Lodge.
The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe. Over 450 species of animals have been recorded there. You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes, and elephant.
It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti, Tanzania in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna, including lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena, and vultures.
In the morning, you will have game drives before returning to the lodge for breakfast. You will then return to Nairobi where the safari ends.
Please kindly book in advance for better arrangements.

In Kibo Safari Camp, in the evenings from 21:00 to 21:30, Maasai morans entertain their guests at the bonfire with their traditional dances and will also explain to you the meanings of their dances and songs. You are encouraged to join in and see if you could jump higher than a Maasai.
