Detailed itinerary
Day 1
Kruger Park Africa Tours collects you from your accommodation in Johannesburg around 6 a.m. and transfers you to the shuttle service at OR Tambo International Airport (shuttle service at own cost).
Shuttle service departs in an air-conditioned bus to Hoedspruit. You will pass through the picturesque Mpumalanga farmlands en route to your lunch destination in Hoedspruit (client’s that fly into Hoedspruit Eastgate airport will be collected).
After lunch (at own cost), you proceed to your first overnight accommodation at Bongan African Lodge in an African Village near the Manyeleti Reserve.
Upon arrival, the dedicated staff will welcome you and show you to your chalets, where you can relax for a while. Your first official safari experience will commence shortly after settling into your accommodation – the Sunset Drive. Enjoy as the last rays of the gorgeous light bathe the African bushveld in vivid reds, yellows, and pinks (hint: the lighting will add a romantic element to your photographs!). The Sunset Drive allows you the unique experience of spotting some nocturnal creatures that ordinarily are hidden during the day – watch out for eyes glowing in the dark!
Return to the Bongan African Lodge for a delicious dinner around 7 p.m. – where the day’s adventures can be shared over a warm meal. Stay overnight in your comfortable chalet.
Day 2
Set those alarms for bright and early! It’s time for your safari experience in the Kruger National Park. Starting from Orpen Gate in the Kruger Park and driving through the central areas of Kruger Park, your guide will show you the varied fauna and flora of this magnificent wildlife paradise. The open-sided game Vehicle (with added elevation and absence of windows) allows for excellent viewing and photographic opportunities. Please keep your eyes peeled for the famous Big Five (lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and buffalo). Dinner will be served from 7:30 p.m. in the Bongan Boma.
Day 3
Your guide will take you on an early 4-hour game drive around the game reserve. Breakfast will be served at Bongan African Lodge. A late morning siesta is also a popular option. After lunch (own cost), you can explore the cultures of the village. One can also visit the African Sangoma. Dinner will be served at Bongan African Lodge and overnight in chalets.
Day 4
Panoramic tour for the day. Depart after breakfast. Visit Three Rondawels, Bourkes Potholes, God’s Window, and Mac Mac Falls.
Day 5
Full day of game viewing in the Kruger Park. Dinner in Bongan Boma.
Day 6
An early game drive in Manyeleti / Kruger Park. After breakfast at 10 a.m., they transfer you to your shuttle service in Hoedspruit who will the take you to OR Tambo International Airport.

Tambo International Airport (JNB), where you will join the shuttle service (Safari Link or Swift). You will be transferred to Hoedspruit. On arrival in Hoedspruit, you will be met by one of the safari guides and start your Kruger Park Safari.
Shuttle transfer from Hoedspruit - O. R. Tambo International Airport (JNB):
On the last day of your safari, the guides will drop you at the shuttle service in Hoedspruit. The shuttle service will transfer you to O. R. Tambo International Airport (JNB). Free transfers are offered from Johannesburg accommodations to the shuttle service at O. R. Tambo International Airport (JNB) prior to your tour. Return transfers from the shuttle service at O. R. Tambo International Airport (JNB) available on request.

You can book your flight to Hoedspruit (departure time no later than 12:50, for arrival at Eastgate Airport, Hoedspruit by 13:45). On arrival in Hoedspruit, you will be met by one of the safari guides and start your Kruger Park Safari.
Flights from Hoedspruit - O. R. Tambo International Airport (JNB):
Departure from Eastgate Airport, Hoedspruit (departure time no later than 14:20 for arrival at O. R. Tambo International Airport (JNB) by 15:25).
Please note: Flight costs are excluded from the safari package and will need to be booked in person (approximate rate: 3,000 - 4,000 ZAR dependent on date). Flight times can be confirmed upon reservation of safari tour.
