Day 1

This amazing tour begins with you leaving Nelspruit at 05:00 when the birds are awakening. You will arrive at Kruger in time to catch some or hopefully all of the 140 mammals as well as the Big Five stretching and preparing for the new day.

After some serious game spotting, you will have a break for a well-deserved hearty brunch at one of Kruger’s beautiful picnic spots. With your delicious brunch completed, you will make your way whilst spotting more animals to the world renowned Kruger Camp, which is a camp in the park. Upon arrival, you will have a well-deserved catnap in the comfortable bungalow.

Once refreshed, you will head out on a three-hour evening game drive hosted by one of Kruger’s knowledgeable rangers. On return, nothing beats a true South African braai creating the perfect ambiance under African skies.

Day 2

You will awaken to the call of the animals as they too begin another day. Your mission is to seek those animals that were unable to mark off on your game viewing list during day one, with a three-hour game drive ending at the exit gate of Kruger.

Then, head toward the Small Drakensberg Mountain range leaving the animals images in your minds and cameras as you welcome the stunning sights of God’s Window, Lisbon Falls, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, and the most awesome canyon, the world’s third largest and only growing canyon, the Blyde Canyon.

Once you have experienced these stunning sights, you will dine at Harrie’s Pancakes, where they are famous for their truly delicious and wide selection of delectable pancakes. Sufficiently indulged, you will take a leisurely drive arriving back in Nelspruit in the late afternoon.

About the Big Five

In the greater Kruger National Park, spotting all of the big five, lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino, in one or two days is possible but cannot be guaranteed. Due to the vastness of Kruger, it is impossible to predict in advance what animals you will find on your safari.

This is part of the excitement and adventure of looking for wildlife in their natural environment. Also, in your quest to view the big five, be sure not to miss out on the many other interesting animals, birds, plants, insects, and reptiles to be found.

Your guide will consult with you about your interests and what you most wish to see. This will help determine what approach to take. If the big five is what you want to see, your hosts will make every effort to try and find them.

If you are interested in birds, your hosts will take you to some of the best birding spots in Kruger. If your passion is photography, your hosts will create ample opportunity for this and put together a fantastic photographic safari for you.

This safari includes visits to the Kruger National Park, God’s Window, Lisbon Falls, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, and the Blyde Canyon.

"From day one it was a truly wonderful experience. The accommodation was comfortable and in lovely surroundings. It felt extremely safe and secure. Dave was a fabulous host and guide, he keeps you on your toes with quirky humor and genuine friendliness. Traveling through Kruger was one of the best experiences I've had. Dave is so knowledgeable about both the animals and bird life. I had heard that if there are animals to be found, Dave will find them. No truer word sad, in two days we had seen every one of the Big Five! I will be sure to encourage my friends in the US that a Safari with Dave is a must. I was sad to leave Old Vic."

"Being from a little town in Northern Ireland it was wonderful to finally see leopards, lions, giraffe, elephants, rhino and more in person. Our guide, Ceska was just brilliant. She had been in the field for 18 years and still had such a passion for what she did! She knew exactly how to approach the animals - we were literally inches away from a male elephant. We also did our panoramic tour with Ceska, again it was beautiful, getting to see the more scenic aspects of South Africa. It's difficult to put into words how great our experience was with Kruger Flexi Tours - it was just so good, to sum up, you won't be a disappointed! A well organised tour :)"

"AMAZING! They guides are very informative and nice. They joke and take you to what you wanna see and ask when you're done observing the animal or if you want to stay a bit longer. You really feel like your voice is heard and you see everything you want to. Well timed stops, and great souvenirs. Great experience."

"A true once-in-a-lifetime adventure. We did the lion king tour: WOW! Started with a full day in Kruger with tons of sightings. Very nice lunch off the beaten path then settled into nice and modest accommodations in the park. We did a night tour with a Kruger guide, terrific sightings. Next day early started, lots of animals, including a whole pride of lions on a kill, almost all to ourselves. After another lunch, we settled into true luxury and excellence in service: a private reserve. I don't think five stars is enough! Food, private game drives, intimate setting. Eating breakfast while the monkeys play on the porch and a hippo walks to the watering hole. We were so close to a pride of lions we heard the cub suckling his mother! Food, drinks, and over-the-top service. Day three was another game drive and then a tour of the natural wonders of the area. Best vacation ever! Dave is organized, flexible and a genuinely friendly person. It seems like he knows everybody. The lion king tour is more pricey than the others, but it is worth every cent if you are keenly interested in the best safari experience in South Africa."

"We booked a tour at the hostel we were staying, Old Vic Travellers' Inn in Nelspruit. The tour included two days Kruger and Blyde River Canyon. We had such a great time! Dave (owner of the hostel) was a great guide, he was so excited and showed us a lot of animals. We had a 'braai' with the group at the accommodation in Kruger where we slept. The tour included a night drive in the park, which was really cool. The second day we did a short tour in Kruger and went to Blyde River Canyon. On the way there, we visited some other beautiful places such as Gods' Window. At the end of the trip, we ate some delicious pancakes at harries"

"Overall: Fantastic experience, highly recommended! My group of five (US medical students in our mid-20s) booked the two-day, one-night Kruger tour and had an amazing time. The owner and tour guide, Dave, was a great host who kept us laughing the whole time while providing lots of interesting information about the plants and animals we saw and life in South Africa."

"Kruger Tour: We were spoiled with an incredible first visit to Kruger, spotting the Big 5 (rhino, elephant, lion, leopard, and buffalo) within the first few hours, as well as at least a dozen other species, common and rare. Dave reminded us often that we were extremely lucky to have come across so many animals, and while this is true, Dave’s extensive experience with the park surely played a large part in that. I’m also confident that even if we had been particularly unlucky and seen few animals, Dave would still have made the tour entertaining and exciting. "

"Accommodations: The rooms we stayed in (camp: Lower Sabie) were quite nice, with outlets to charge our cameras, refrigerators, AC, a general store, and either communal or en-suite bathrooms and showers (towels provided). While I cannot confirm that other camps in the park where you might stay have all the same amenities, I would expect that they do."

"Food: While we embarked on a sunset or night game drive, Dave cooked up a delicious dinner that was ready when we returned. The steak, corn, and salad was a simple but perfect meal to finish of our day, leaving us satisfied and ready to rest for the early morning to come. Each morning, Dave also provided coffee, tea, and toast with butter and jam. "

"Drakkenberg or Blythe Canyon Tour: The second half of our second day, Dave took us out of the park and up into the nearby Drakkenberg mountain range. We made a few different stops, admiring tall waterfalls and breathtaking views. The view of the Three Rondavels was particularly stunning, providing numerous opportunities for great pictures."

"Tour guide: As mentioned above, Dave was absolutely fantastic. A consummate host, you can tell he takes pride in providing the best possible tours to his guests. He came highly recommended from colleagues, and I can’t recommend him enough. In addition to providing an exciting and fun tour, he went out of his way to accommodate us with short notice and a convoluted departure schedule."

"We took a three-day safari tour. All three of our guides - Dave, Siska, and Ted were so amazing, we didn't want to leave the safari."

"We managed to see all of the big five (and much more), but to say the truth, your experience with Flexi tours is special for many other reasons. All of our guides did everything they could to make us comfortable and happy. They answered all of our (many) questions and engaged in such an interesting conversation."

"We were told we came on a busy long weekend in South Africa (between elections and women's day), and that would affect our experience, but it simply didn't."

"We were also told that three days in Kruger Park were too much, but we couldn't get enough of this tour! "

"The morning tours provide breathtaking sunrises, the evenings are filled with unique sunset or night tours, and Dave makes delicious dinners, for vegetarians as well!"

"Flexi tour's guides are experienced, fascinating guides that provide the best tours to find. "

"Thank you, Dave, Siska, and Ted! We can't wait to come back!"

"Fue una experiencia maravillosa gracias a Dave y a su equipo! Muchas gracias! Pudimos ver los "big five" gracias a que Dave nos condujo por el parque en diferentes horas del día, incluyendo el amanecer y la noche! Al final de la tarde y todos los días, él mismo nos preparó una exquisita cena: el típico brai o asado africano. Lo recomiendo ampliamente. Gracias Dave."
