Kingfisher Creek Lodge is graded a 4-star safari lodge. It is a small intimate lodge set along the banks of a dry river bed. There are three luxury tented suites set back amongst the trees for privacy and excellent game viewing. Each tented suite has a luxurious king-size bed or alternatively, you can have two single beds. You can sit and enjoy the peace and quiet from your own private viewing deck.
The suites are fully air-conditioned and have a tea/coffee station, fridge, hair dryer, and filtered water. Soak in the deep soak free-standing bath and watch the wildlife outside your window. The lodge uses Africology products (only the best for Kingfisher Creek Safari Lodge's guests!). Each suite has a private outside shower.
There is the main lodge where guests go to eat and relax. There is a TV there and the pool is set out on an island and is reached by a wooden walkway. The bar is outside. There are three tented suites, two double-tented suites, and one family-tented suite which has two bedrooms and a shared bathroom.
All the units are fully air-conditioned with a choice of a fan or an AC unit. There is an open-plan bathroom with a bath and an outside shower. There is a fridge freezer in each unit with a tea/coffee station. The units all have Wi-Fi. Complimentary purified water is in each unit.
Program
Day 1: Arrival day
Check in is from 2pm. Please advise the lodge if you are flying into Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport (HDS) and need transfers to the lodge or if you are self-driving from Johannesburg.
After settling into your accommodation, you can go for a swim before being served a delicious dinner at 7 pm on the main deck under the stars (weather permitting).
Day 2
"The early bird catches the worm". Depending on the time of year (winter/summer), an early start (5 to 5:30 a.m.) is in order to make the most of the animal activity before the heat of the day sets in. You will experience the Kruger National Park from an open vehicle (with a roof). You will be sent off with a packed breakfast which you will have at one of the scenic beauty spots that you stop at on the day.
Lunch (not included) is at one of the rest camps in the park where there is a restaurant. You will return to the lodge where you will have time to shower the dust off from the day and meet at the boma for a sundowner drink before another delicious dinner will be served.
Day 3
You start the day with another big 5 safari. A beautiful unspolit reserve called Manyeleti will provide you with a truly wild experience. Departure is at 5 a.m. from the lodge. You will have a tea and coffee stop during the safari before return in to the lodge around 10 a.m.
A light lunch can be ordered followed by a 2 p.m. pickup from reception for your second Big Five safari of the day. Blue Canyon is a private reserve which is approximately 10,000 hectares with the most stunning views of the Northern Drakensberg Mountains. Sightings are epic and you will stop for a sundowner drink and snacks along the way. After the safari you will return to the lodge for dinner.
Day 4: Check out day
After breakfast, you will be on your way to the next destination.
Included excursions
Kruger National Park Safari
Collection for the Kruger Safari is at 5 a.m. You will be taken on an open Kruger Safari vehicle with a qualified guide. Lunch (not included) is at a rest camp/ restaurant in the park and you will return to the lodge between 4 and 5 p.m.
Manyeleti Safari
Located next to the Kruger, the Manyeleti is a beautiful reserve. The animals can roam freely between Kruger, Manyeleti, and the Sabi Sands. The roads are dirt roads and much fewer vehicles in the Manyeleti mean that sightings are a lot less busy. Pick up is at 5am and you return to the lodge at 10am.

Blue Canyon is the second Big 5 safari of Day 2. Collection times vary depending on the time of year . The safari duration is 3 hours.
Location
Kingfisher Creek Safari Lodge is located in the heart of the African Bushveld, surrounded by Big Five game reserves such as Thornybush. The lodge is conveniently located close to the Orpen Entrance Gate of the Kruger National Park. It is also not far from the spectacular Blyde River Canyon which is the third largest canyon in the world. The bustling tourist town of Hoedspruit is only 40 kilometers away.

Airport transfer is available for 590 ZAR per person each way. Transfer from Johannesburg- OR Tambo can be arranged.
Shared transfer bus - Departs OR Tambo airport bus station at 07.45 am and arrives in Hoedspruit at approx 13.30 where another vehicle will bring you to the Lodge. This costs R 1710 per person.
